I had to pay a lawyer recently and they only accepted cash and checks (not even debit cards) and, like you, I haven't used checks in forever.

I had a very serious conversation with an elderly relative on Medicare, Social Security, and other programs where I asked them to register as a Republican because I can literally see a future where party membership is a requirement for accessing public assistance.
It's that bad.
