The Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool was developed under Biden’s Justice40 initiative (an EO to allocate 40% of climate investments to disadvantaged communities). Trump rescinded the EO and took down the tool within 72 hours of being inaugurated.

Beekeepers are advocating for the proposed ban on imported non-native bees, which is going through the Oireachtas. Banning imports, however, has historically been difficult since bees are considered to be livestock and therefore have "freedom of movement across the EU."

Moral of the story: don’t judge unhoused folks who use drugs either unless and until you’ve been in their shoes. Also, homelessness could happen to anyone at any moment.

Per a former colleague who worked on homelessness issues for years: a lot of unhoused folks use uppers to stay alert and avoid being sexually and physically harassed, then downers to mentally check out because (understandably so) homelessness is mentally and physically taxing.

And that’s not to say ESG isn’t without its issues; much like DEI (which is part of ESG), ESG can be performative as fuck—not every company with an ESG statement is acting in good faith—but that shouldn’t take away from its overarching goals and significance.

If you or your org’s mission don’t support a better environment or ways to make your org and society more sustainable, whatever (do you), but don’t get in the way of others who are focused on sustainability and finding ways to be more impactful/less wasteful and destructive.
