When was the last time you heard of anyone working the mayor who walked away impressed?

Great stuff! I wrote about this permitting reform last fall, trying to sketch out a larger picture regarding Minnesota’s recent wins and remaining challenges with an “abundance agenda.” minnesotareformer.com/2024/10/03/a...

This is tragic. Anyone who was familiar with 18F knows those were some of the real heroes of government, who helped make government tech/digital services better for the public. They were doing real work that DOGE pretends to do, but is too ignorant to know how to do.

Once again, Elon is reinventing the thing he first moved to destroy, and doing so in a dumber, less efficient way. We see this over and over and over again.

Good point but kinder interpretation of @mcuban.bsky.social comments is less about algorithms and more that left doesn’t have the media ecosystem to “flood the zone” via Fox, Joe Rogan, Musk , Newsmax, etc. Last episode of On The Media touched on this

“Flooding the zone” means never having to talk about grocery prices, bird flu, plane crashes, etc.

Technologies gone too soon: Small phones 11-inch MacBook Air Grooveshark

Keep circulating the tapes! #localangle

Love to see business owners supporting homes rather than opposing them! #N4MN

Governor Walz for more homes!

Hadn’t heard this until now. His book, The High Cost of Free Parking, certainly made an impact in Minneapolis.

“In celebration of #InternationalClashDay, KEXP presents the first ever Clash video game, Lost in the Supermarket. Can you make it out of the supermarket? Find out!” Plus: interviews, a short documentary on the history of the holiday, & more:

just checked the other timeline. tony hawk pro skater XIV is coming out on dreamcast 6

Hey MSP peeps! @moreneighbors.org is organizing supporters for the 2025 legislative session. Take their quick survey and let them know how you can help! #N4MN

I really would like people who accept no alternative to I-94 to sincerely grapple with the public health consequences for those who literally have no choice but to live in the pollution zone. Begin your answer with "we must poison these people because..." https://wedgelive.com/mndots-public-health-…

How local TV covers I-94 ➡️A big decision that will impact commuters ➡️What this could mean for "a whole lot of drivers." ➡️120,000 people travel this busy stretch every day. No mention of people living within poisoning distance of 94, higher asthma rates, lifespans cut short.

Agree with this, and want to add that when people say the city is too noisy/loud it’s *always* because of fast-moving cars.

Are insurance companies too woke?

This has always been insane to me. Any official responding to a data request can just say “sorry, we didn’t find anything” and that’s the end of it.

Guys, the @nytimes.com published this just a few months ago.

Jon’s amazing YouTube series on the Vikings is basically 10 consecutive hours of entertaining anecdotes.

In case you didn’t know: Radio K archived their top 77 song lists, dating back to 1994. It’s really fun to dig through.

My general feeling, living very close to a state road that cuts through a fairly densely populated neighborhood, is that MNDOT needs to be reformed. It hurts the state’s biggest cities to benefit people who live somewhere else and drive through them in cars. slate.com/business/202...

Went to use my new snowblower and someone had already done the entire sidewalk on my block

Looking forward to adding some of these episodes to my podcast rotation, particularly Minor Threat, SDRE, and Spoon

Some folks are pretty good seeing things coming.

It should be illegal to have a podcast about ultra processed foods the day after I go to the grocery store cc @nytimes.com

I can't take the endless budget pouting seriously when Mayor Frey is the one who created a new job specifically so Lisa Goodman could keep working with her best friends.

Two months later the album "London Calling" gets its first (very positive) review in a Minneapolis newspaper. They may have held off until the LP was available as a domestic U.S. release
