Loved this show! The theme music was so calming, and I loved the miniature furniture! Jerome was my favourite. Ahead of its time in thinking that children would watch a show that wasn’t loud, with many edits.

I would bet that there are more people in the US who would want to join Canada, than people in Canada who would want to join the US. Why be fifty-one when we are number one!

Can I shamelessly post these photos that I took in 2006 when I visited the Canadian Museum of Civilization (today it's the Canadian Museum of History)? They are the last Red Ensign flag that flew over the Peace Tower on 15 Feb. 1965; the first Maple Leaf Flag; and finally the Pearson Pennant.

I can understand your concern, but these same concerns were uttered in the early 1960s when the Pearson government wanted a new flag for Canada. He was even booed when he gave a speech at the Legion. Yet, I think we can all agree that the flag adopted was a great choice!

The Memorial Room in the Peace Tower is a hidden gem. Some of the stone work was quarried from some of the WWI battlefields where Canadians fought and died

Such an honour to see. One of my fav places to visit when visiting the Parliament buildings—I know the books have been moved because of the renovations on the hill.

Beautiful painting. I wonder if this house is still around.

I do agree with your criticism “it was clear the show had no interest in the sticky linguistic politics of Quebec – even though it would have made the power struggle between the two more unique.” The show should allow the actors to speak in Quebecois more often—viewers will tolerate subtitles

I have to respectfully disagree with you. I am enjoying this series, especially Rémy’s character (Guillaume Cyr), and Jamie Lee Curtis’ character.

I can’t believe how cavalier these mayors are in demanding the use of the notwithstanding clause to override fundamental rights. The clause was put in the Charter to use in response to any future egregious court rulings to be rarely used because governments would be reluctant to trample rights!

Some people still believe that the fire was started by German spies. Wouldn’t that make for a great spy thriller, either a movie or a novel?
