I should not be as excited as I am about getting a Dyson.

I think this is one of the things that gets to the heart of why the govt’s claims are filled with such lies. You’re honestly asserting that the Nike Jordan logo and his jersey number are gang signs??? Wild.

WPS!!! 🐽

This isn't how gov't is supposed to work: The acting commissioner of Social Security admitted “I was ticked at the governor of Maine for not being real cordial to the president,” so I ended a program in Maine. www.pressherald.com/2025/03/25/s...

The fact that HEB has a dry-aging room for their meat is wild.

Rodney Taylor is a beloved Georgia barber who came to the United States from Liberia with his mother when he was only two years old. He applied for citizenship but was denied. But this year, ICE arrested him, locked him up, and has scheduled him to be deported to a faraway country he's never known.

chatgpt has fully broken-through to every facet of the corporate environment. I'm spending a not-insignificant amount of my time every week now explaining to people that just because chatgpt told you that something was possible doesn't mean that it a) is or b) even exists

I feel like I will never understand the level of disdain that litigators have against calling opposing counsel “my friend on the other side.” It’s so confusing.

The word of the day is pettifogging. I do not wish to explain

A US-born citizen was walking near Chicago in January. ICE snatched him off the street, handcuffed him, threw into a van. His wallet, which contained his ID, was confiscated. He was detained for 10 hours before being released without a record of what occurred. immigrantjustice.org/sites/defaul...

NEW: USAID's acting asst administrator, Nick Enrich, has been placed on leave after sharing a memo detailing how political appointees have "wholly prevented" staff from continuing life saving aid.

Im fascinated by the intersection of people that do community work, and are Star Trek fans. Not saying that it’s causal, just an interesting correlation

I’m so happy to see that WaPo will start writing about antitrust and how companies shouldn’t be able to monopolize markets! Yay, antitrust!

The first measles death in the US in a decade -- the tragic, preventable death of a child whose parents chose not to protect them with vaccination -- should spark an immediate nation-wide campaign to ensure all children are protected against preventable diseases. Anything less is unconscionable.

HUGE: The Supreme Court sides with Richard Glossip, holding that prosecutors violated his constitutional rights by failing to correct false testimony at his trial. It directs the Oklahoma courts to vacate his conviction! www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

I hope brujas are accounting for the price of eggs when charging for limpias

Glad to be on On Point yesterday, talking about how immigrants in America's Dairyland are faring with all of everything going on these days. Listen to hear the voices of people like Joaquin, who has packed up all of his favorite things, and Kariemi, who already left. www.wbur.org/onpoint/2025...

Lawyers, this is what it looks like to honor your oath as a lawyer and as a prosecutor. I want to lift up Denise Cheung, one of a growing group of senior DOJ lawyers who have put the rule of law ahead of politics & short-term career advancement. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/18/u...

The ability to understand what is happening at the DOJ and in D.C. would be a lot easier if the articles weren’t hidden behind paywalls 🙃 I guess democracy dies behind a paywall.

I saw AI in a menu the other day and I was disappointed

The lead prosecutor on the Adams investigation - Hagan Scotten - resigns from SDNY. “I expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion [to dismiss Adams charges]. But it was never going to me.” www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

AUSA Hagan Scotten, former clerk for John Roberts, really put some mustard on his resignation letter.

Danielle R. Sassoon, Manhattan’s acting U.S. attorney, resigned on Thursday rather than obey a Justice Department order that she drop a corruption case against New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, that she had championed, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

MAJOR BREAKING: Pope Francis has written a letter to US Bishops saying he’s following “major crisis” of “mass deportations;” takes on Vance saying “The true ordo amoris that must be promoted is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable of the “Good Samaritan”

Lawyers and law profs like conceptualizing things. Distinguishing this from that. Drawing lines. We get paid to do it. I cannot stress enough that if we spend the first stages of a reactionary takeover debating whether we are really in a “constitutional crisis” it will be in part our fault.

Someone at the American Bar Association ate their Wheaties this morning.

They’re absolutely going for it. Doesn’t mean they’re going to be successful, and in fact I think it’s like shooting the moon, but everyone needs to understand what they are attempting.

The BOP is filled with people that just “defied statutes”

Folks will need these words defined for them. This is where popular education is helpful. Create some quick two pagers explaining what all three of these things mean and get them out everywhere. Invite regular folks to use this month to run workshops, discussions, etc... on these ideas.

My thinking about AI is that if you’re not taking the time to write something, why should I take the time to read it?

This is also, enlarge, part a reason that journaling is helpful as a therapeutic practice. You have to think about your feelings, your thoughts and process how to communicate them. It requires work, but that work is necessary.

No, I don't need a bloody copilot for this document, thank you. Writing is, in no small part, a tool for thinking. If you outsource that element to a machine that cannot think, you shouldn't be surprised if, at the end of the process, neither you nor your reader are any the wiser.

Spending part of my Saturday volunteering at a naturalization clinic. If you can do work, do it locally!

Ichiro Suzuki has been elected to baseball’s Hall of Fame, the first Japanese player chosen. He’ll be inducted this July along with CC Sabathia and Billy Wagner in Cooperstown. apnews.com/article/ichi...

Just FYI, administrative warrants (like the ones used by ICE) are not judicial warrants (used by cops, signed by a judge). You do NOT legally have to open the door for an ICE officer with an administrative warrant *no matter what the ICE officer says.*

One change that I hope Bluesky implements is the ability to use bookmarks. Sometimes I just want to read something later!

I’d like to see the cowboys in the Super Bowl for once in my life 🥲

First day of the last semester of law school! 🤓 Time to learn antitrust!

My own opinion is that it's good to signal (through words and/or actions) the virtues that you value; that's one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy community.

Every time I see the conversation of “AI can replace X’s job,” I am don’t understand why we are trying to replace or take someone’s job? Is it for efficiency? Is it for technological advancement? Even considering the latter, using AI to replace an individual removes the humanity from all involved.

Writing a brief on gender affirming care while listening to the new bad bunny album? It’s a vibe.

I feel like the “obligation” opposition is why people are isolated from anything that resembles community You have to actively participate in a community and sometimes that requires work.

The new bad bunny album is a masterpiece

19° outside + snow? Now it feels like winter!

I watched the conclave yesterday, and I cannot recommend it enough!
