One aspect that I think plays a major role in all this is that gender expectations have changed for women to some degree (the backlash wouldn't be so fervent and deranged otherwise imo) but not nearly as much for men. The provider role remains as strong as it is toxic

Eh I feel like there's value in pointing out the various methods Dems could employ (but choose not to) inasmuch as it gets the message across that they *choose not to*. "Dems are controlled opposition" is kind of hard to swallow without that evidence IMO
