There's not that much footage of NBA basketball in the 70s so it all feels anecdotal. Wilt scored 100 in a game? No way! Then it was high quality film. But soon after in the early 00s they had potato quality digital so most clips of Kobe from just 20 years ago looks like unwatchable ass now.

Frosted Ass is so accurate. I have a running theory that most adults like cucumber Gatorade the most and most kids hate it. Not sure why.

I feel like Gatorade is incredible when it's hot and you've just lost a gallon of sweat, but drinking it when you're comfortable it tastes like ass.

I'm going on Thursday for Grad Bash with the school I teach at. I've gone 3 times so far and each time I get there the ride's closed for the night. So not worth rushing over??

sorry. SGV is San Gabriel Valley, suburbs just outside LA where it's predominately Asian and known for lots of great restaurants. Lots of Chinese food from all different regions too!

does LA in this comparison include SGV?

I remember being in school and thinking, wow some of these guys know how to code already, they must be smart. Then after I learned some basic coding, I looked at what they had and realized a lot of it was redundant or not even doing anything 🙃

Many nights around 9 something we’ll hear something crunching around the leaf mulch and getting to watch a possum sniff out and chomp on some bugs is the highlight of my week.

I always find it funny when kids in Southern California take French in high school instead of Spanish. Knowing some Spanish is definitely at least moderately useful where we are. Chinese as well, compared to French here.

hell yeah! Did you read Digital Detox? I'm still working to implement more of those suggestions, but it's nice to see more people being proactive about reclaiming their minds.

Saw a post on the game dev sub Reddit where they wanted to make their dream game, also their first game and they’re looking for a team, and was considering a kickstarter and was planning to copy the Hollow Knight model. … Good luck!

The whole thing falls apart when you think about it for five seconds. How much does one expect to be paid to have no college education and unskillfully pull a lever for 10 hours a day?

that one woman from the story said she's so addicted to tiktok she uses it until her eyes hurt and because she does that so much she has to use AI to write her essays because she can do it in 2 hours instead of 12. I don't even know where to begin saying how sad and pathetic that sounds.

I happened to be there a couple days ago and I saw a giant sign saying to vote no(IIRC) on A and B saying to "protect children from porn" and I was so confused what that was about -- maybe some ID law or something? Then I looked it up and it's about library books. TF?

I did a PoC retreat at a Buddhist monastery before and we would observe noble silence, which involved not verbally speaking, from like 9pm until after breakfast the next morning.
