I tend to just lurk and fave, especially on FA. Love your art.

I don't think this one is universal. Some mattresses have a soft memory foam top. I think some foam ones are layered as well for a specific orientation.

Need a pull-tab under it :p Short term, a flipper/spatula may get under it a bit. Or you might have to pop the whole drawer out. Maybe use vertical storage instead.

Despecialized?

What if you had a whole floor covered in nanofurs, they call you their king or maybe a god. A country in just one room.

Better to be tiny than utterly insignificant. I mean, you see the text, right? Don't worry, I'll take good care of you.

I didn't even know it had fine print. Don't worry, we'll make the best of it shorty.

It's stupid that it's taken this long - BUT soon these outages will suck a lot less.

I have ideas to make it better. I have my batteries which I can setup a little differently to make things easier next time. And dad is now willing to get the whole-house hook up/transfer-switch arrangement. Even wants to buy a bigger generator.

I feel as good I think in part, because I proved my dad wrong. He fought me tooth and nail, called the project stupid. It took me weeks to build it. I had to clear away overgrown brush, bust my ass under the hot sun, and make a lot of mistakes. And it was worth it. He can't complain.

Everything worked beautifully. I built something - it looks ugly, I'm not master craftsman, but it operated perfectly and performed its function flawlessly. There's some pride in that. Powered the heater and used the batteries for computers and things.

Refuelling was even easier. Over the years we always spilled gas from the regular cans. They're cumbersome when you're pouring into the generator. Always a mess. I got a new gas can, it's got a spout/hose on the bottom and a little trigger on top. Just set it above the tank, point the hose down.

It got its first serious deployment Sunday. NORMALLY the generator would take an hour to move and setup. Not this time. It was already outside in its shed. All I had to do was run an extension cable to the heater, pull-start it, and close the shed.

Over the summer, I got a cheap plastic garden shed, one of the short ones. I built a foundation for it out of wood and stone. Rock-solid. Mounted the shed to it. Then came the fun: It's got air vents, a cable passthrough (with a screw on cap), and a cooling fan.

One step of these, we got our heater setup with a plug and an outlet so it could be powered via the generator. Another step was getting batteries. I have almost 5KW of LiFePo4 batteries. Enough to power the internet through the outage, run appliances, and then top off from the generator as-needed.

We had multiple periods of deploy/recover/deploy at times. At one point, weekly outages were a thing. We didn't have a way to power the house with it - still don't. It would just power the fridge and whatever else via extension cord.

BUT it was stored in my basement. Nowhere better to put it. It wasn't easy to get out. It was a two person job. The generator would have to be brought in soon to avoid any damage the weather could cause it - no outdoors storage.

For 2 years in a row, we had huge christmas power outages in extremely frigid weather. It was a disaster. Once was bad enough. Twice? After that, I started working on a solution: - On-Demand emergency power - Had to be FAST to deploy - Had to be easy to deploy I already owned a generator-
