It's 2025. Boris the sourdough is now five years old. With weekly, and sometimes twice weekly bread baking, I think I have finally produced a loaf I'm a little proud of.

Ah, so a pope who had seen nazi Germany took a look at Vance and noped out. Sounds about correct to me.

My regular news outlet today was running a headline today that included the word "dead". It was about something else though.

You have to read this article. "The forces we are up against have made peace with mass death. They are treasonous to this world and its human and non-human inhabitants." By @naomiaklein.bsky.social and @astra.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

In the interest of balance #news

My e-reader is giving up, and the market for used devices is crazy. Older ebook readers that are simple, have decent battery and resolution and don't try to read your books out loud or something are sold above original price. Feels like at least one manufacturer should take the hint already 😒

A week ago I impulse bought barefoot shoes on sale, and this weekend I worked Tarkir Prerelease in them. 35 hours on my feet in three days, and I will absolutely do it again. I don't think my joints and back have ever been this okay after this type of torture.

It is 2002. I am 18 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2008. I am 24 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2020. I am 36 years old. We are in a once-in-a-generation economic crisis. It is 2025. I am 41 years old. We are in a—

Been seeing this headline used a lot recently I unfortunately think it will not be out of use for quite a while

These "barefoot" shoes are really nice. That is, until you drop a box full of product on your foot at work 😬

A happy "protest doesn't do anything" to those who celebrate. Signed, this European who listened in for an hour or so towards the end and thinks we could use a little more courage to cause good trouble ourselves.

I often rescue food. And sure, the cheap food is nice, it's nice to know I'm doing something for the environment. Biggest benefit, however: I get food I would never buy, and I will figure out how to enjoy it. This week I learned green beans are actually edible in a greek sauce.

Can history please do its thing this time around too 🤞

Thou shalt not snatch people off the streets for their opinions.

Anyone got screenshots of the secret service group chat though? I bet those are 🔥

Okay, this is my newest very very favorite meme.

To the supplier who shipped me a pack of 500 envelopes that wasn't sealed - may your time be disrespected by annoying customers 😑

Old soviet joke, relevant again 👀 A worker standing in a liquor line says: “I have had enough, save my place, I am going to shoot Gorbachev.” Two hours later he returns to claim his place in line. His friends ask, “Did you get him?” “No, the line there was even longer than the line here.”

Fun parts of running a business: Booking a courier to pick something up for you abroad and being genuinely excited to find out if they will actually turn up 😹🫣 If they don't... I think I will hop on a train and go get the stuff myself. I haven't done anything crazy in a long time 😹

Damn, this aged poorly

I will be in the market for a new e-reader soon. So there's that Kobo reader that would really suit me. Made from ocean plastics by a Canadian company. Neat. *Digs deeper* Founder from Microsoft, worked "alongside Elon Musk", parent company involved in ivory and whale meat trade. *sigh*
