Every once in a while I am reminded that I have actually played Elden Ring for over 600 hours. I am actually pretty decent at it.

I had the worst luck with the Rufus boss battle in FFVII Rebirth. Played it a couple of times yesterday. Couldn't manage it and I was getting tired so I just shut the game off. Started the game just an hour ago to realize that since I quit out of the game, I'd have to fight Rude and Elena again.

FFVII Rebirth's minigames are weird. On one hand, I understand people's hatred of some of them. But on the other, I haven't encountered a single minigame that the game forces me to repeat. The 3D Brawler minigame was awful. But after the mandatory introduction I just avoided it.

Thinking about my second playthrough of Disco Elysium. I actually properly did the PAYPHONE SCENE on this playthrough. I don't think I've ever been more mortified playing a game. I've seen favorite characters die... And it was nowhere near as awful as that phone call.

Please play disco elysium. Like not to be dramatic but it's a really important piece of art and I'm sure some part of you will change after playing through it. I don't know what the truly moral means of consuming it is and I'm kind of at the point that I don't care just play it if you haven't.

I watched Lake Mungo for the first time a month or so ago. Ever since watching the movie, THAT scene pops into my head every couple of days and sends shivers down my spine. It's fascinating. I didn't find the scene that scary but it just disturbed me to my core.

Replay of Shadow of the Erdtree done. This DLC is like a perfect counterpoint to the anti-GRRM fans of the base game. FromSoft's Miquella story is aggressively mid. The deep, historic lore reveals about Marika, the Hornsent, Messmer? Fucking peak. Thank you, George.

I got to Messmer on my Elden Ring DLC replay. Beat him. It was fantastic and great. Then I realized that the only bosses I'm looking forward to is Romina and Midra... So that's that. Motivation sort of gone. Maybe I'll just start a new game.

I've been replaying Elden Ring. It's been like five-ish playthroughs since the last time I dipped my toes in the DLC. It's exquisitely crafted, it looks gorgeous, the weapons are great. And I just kinda skip it. Every time. I just don't enjoy it nearly as much as the core game. I don't know why.

Baldur's Gate 3 has been a constant thorn on my side since its release. Anytime I buy a new game, my attempt to play it is seriously hampered by the fact that I get "I should start a new BG3 run" urges. But now BG3 is getting in the way of BG3 as I have three different characters going at once 🥲

I remember playing Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 and enjoying it after the game opened up slightly. I bought it for PC yesterday and I had a blast. But damn. This game is on rails for way too long. I just finished the Lightning/Hope section that was the same corridor repeated like ten times. Excessive 😂

I had to forget my "no preorders" rule and preorder Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for PC immediately. I know that I'm gonna be broke as fuck in January because I get JUST a little bit too lit on New Year's Eve and make some questionable (expensive, not-worth-it alcohol) purchases.

I thought that the second season of Shrinking was ending tomorrow. Luckily, they got two more episodes in S2 than they did in S1 so! Yay! But I still wanna shout out the show. It's so fucking good. It's a drama comedy that nails the drama and, amazingly, is super funny when it does comedy!

The new Baldur's Gate 3 save is progressing. Just reached the Underdark once again. I kiiiinda have to go back to my Durge playthrough at some point. But I took a couple of months off the game and that save is in Act 3. And I really didn't want to jump into that after that long of a break.

I'm a Finn and this is the first time a Finnish song managed to make the Top 5 Most Listened Songs in Spotify Wrapped. And not just a single song. THREE. That's neat. Less neat is that I didn't discover all that much music this year. Some. But not enough.

Woooo baby! I beat Prometheus in Hades 2. Due to pure, dumb luck while managing to go through four death defiances. I think I just stopped dodging when I got him under 20% 💀

Unfortunately for my backlog of games... I have started a new Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough. I think I can balance Veilguard, BG3, Hades 2, and the occasional hour or two of Diablo IV grinding. Especially now that I'm unemployed again 🥲

they should make video games so that they listen through your mic for the sound of a beer opening and when it detects it your character in the game will also have a beer in their hand

As luck would have it, I apparently completely missed a larger Hades II update. The game isn't as hungry for RAM and runs flawlessly. And it's amazing. So wins all around.

I played Mouthwashing a couple of days ago and damn... Easily the best horror game I've played this year. Some of the most disturbing imagery I've seen in a horror game in a hot minute. But the story is the real draw. Amazingly disturbing. Every twist is earned and yet surprising.

Computer has been unstable for a few weeks. Couple of days ago a ton of BSODs... One of my RAM sticks managed 5000 errors in memtest86 🫠 No big deal. Easy enough to replace. And thankfully ONE RAM stick still works. But no Veilguard or Diablo IV for a week while I wait for my new RAM 🥲
