Suehiro Maruo (b. 1956) — more!

@priscillapage.bsky.social's masterpiece of a thread has made it to this platform. The universe is healing. Blue sky indeed.

I'm deeply saddened by the news of Lynne Marie Stewart's passing. A character actor with an impressive and exhaustive resume, I had the honor of doing a stage show with her a few years ago. As talented as she was kind, her beauty extended beyond Puppet Land and into the hearts of all she touched.

Four more paperbacks with cover art by Henri Lievens (1920-2000).

The extradimensional sex demons at @Fangoria let me write an essay about one of my favorite movies, Clive Barker's horror-fantasy 'Nightbreed' --> www.fangoria.com/nightbreed-3...

Lair of the White Worm. Lady Sylvia is done. #stainedglass

Rachel Spelling uses old, and new, paint charts as her canvas. Filling them with tiny, colour appropriate works of art. studiospelling.com

Every day I get closer to understanding how it must have felt when the incoming Senator was Caligula's horse.

This 20th anniversary reissue of Craig Armstrong’s ‘As If To Nothing’ is currently very cheap across the board. It includes Evan Dando on one of the saddest songs I know youtu.be/Da7ipt2xQn0?...

Marlene Dietrich and Josef von Sternberg in Paris, circa 1937

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that tapir Yuna gave birth to a rare and endangered Malayan tapir calf Sunday night. The newborn, covered in distinctive white spots and stripes resembling a fuzzy walking watermelon, is only the second tapir born in our 120-year history.

Ok moving on, here's the greatest insult ever committed to film, from Fassbinder's SATAN'S BREW (1976)

Oh hell yeah Criterion Channel!

How is White Palace not streaming anywhere????? I need him tonight.

Never forget that Grace Jones & Dolph Lundgren dated and as a couple looked like if the 80s manifested itself as physical gods

Stop letting unfunny men tell you there’s something wrong with you for not getting their “jokes”. Stop fake laughing. Let their reality reflect the truth of how fundamentally they misunderstand humor. Neuter their ability to use “it was a joke” for emotional cover. Make them see nobody laugh.

This is my gender now and the she-beasts of hell have been awoken

vampire who hasn't drank blood in a while but instead of wasting away all sexy-like they get anemia symptoms and start being constantly dizzy and bumping into everything. vampire who is a clumsy cutie with the fatigue

Here’s hoping the rest of the universe remains free from the presence of our cursed species

Teen Vogue, man. An essential news source. No, seriously. We live in very strange times.

Solid, reliable belly laugh every damn time

fuck it. some of my favorite werewolf scenes, in no particular order, real heavy on transformation since that's what we've gotten so far, but starting with the "not a real werewolf" from Bram Stoker's Dracula because there is Not! Enough! Of! This! Let Werewolves Fuck! You Cowards!

Her bird foot gave me nightmares when I was a kid

Like most conservatives, I think Douthat believes that men are inherently driven to dominate and abuse, and that by providing them with submissive mates (what he means by marriage), that make desire can be corralled to social benefit.

The greatest David Lynch thing I’ve ever seen was a 1 minute short in an anthology called Lumière and Company. A bunch of filmmakers had 1 shot for 1 minute; everyone else produced various fairly static scenes, little movement, no possibility of cuts. Then Lynch does this: youtu.be/p7EJwCr5Yew?...

once again thinking about this passage from David Lynch's book Catching the Big Fish

One second from every episode of Twin Peaks.

Feels ominous that he’s leaving at this moment, when human artistry is becoming so devalued. Like the elves leaving middle earth. Gutted.

MORE THAN YOU CARE TO KNOW ABOUT MONSTERS by Dick Smith (1979) I got a copy of this via a Scholastic Book Fair when I was in 1st grade & it’s probably still on a bookshelf at my parent’s house

Nita Naldi by Rolf Armstrong for the cover of Screenland, September 1924.

This, by Matthew Boroson, is pretty convincing. I knew exactly none of it before reading the original post on Facebook.

READ THIS. THEN READ IT AGAIN.

2025 feels like being one of the passengers in this scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

ISLAND OF LOST SOULS - Premiered in New York this day in 1933 - French release poster

Cannot stop thinking about how Octavia Butler wrote a book in 1993 about climate change. It opens with deadly fires in LA in 2025. In the story, a fascist President has just won office with the campaign slogan "Make America Great Again." She was a modern day Nostradamus. If only we'd listened.

A moment of respect and panty throwing for bisexual goth icon daddy Vincent Price.

JESUS CHRIST

There are multiple reports of people sitting in chairs in exceedingly nonstandard ways in Lexington.

PSA: Denzel Washington’s MACBETH is on Apple TV+. (Apparently, I didn’t finish it when I last had a subscription. Thank you, Continue Watching.)
