I made chicken cordon bleu from scratch last night. Even went in with no recipe, just an end goal. I'm pretty happy with how they came out, but they're definitely involved. Probably not going into the normal menu rotation.

It took over a week of grinding gold stake to get a run that was both strong enough to be down a joker slot and that I actually managed to roll into Invisible Joker. I picked it up in ante 6 and it was perishable, thankfully disabled Jokers still earn stickers. But it's finally done.

I have 1 Joker left to get a gold stake sticker on in Balatro. Just one, and then I will have every official achievement in that game. Just look at that smug little bastard.

Yep this is the thingI point to that 'radicalized' me. Lisening to grown-ass adults unironically do this as a 13 year old immediately pulled the curtain back for me.

It doesn't feel very useful to doomscroll right now. So I'm just going to go back to making minestrone and grinding out completionist ++ in Balatro. I'll catch up on the news tomorrow.

I had leftover veggies from dirty rice I made and want to experiment a bit. I decided on Cajun Sloppy Joes. What most of the recipe blogs on the internet think of that idea is to just add Tbsp of Cajun seasoning to a normal sloppy joe recipe and call it a day. It lazy and not what I wanted.

I'm literally about to go make some pizza dough for tomorrow's dinner and eat some leftover braised pork from last night. I have so many thoughts on this mentality as a millennial and someone who teaches cooking semi-professionally. I might drop a thread after I eat if there's interest.

I don't post very often so new followers are usually a nice surprise. But recently it's always been clout-farming accounts following and followed by tens of thousands of people. I came here to interact with real genuine humans, not whatever the fuck that is.

I'm tired of that shrimp getting all the credit. *I* fried this rice.

It's Friday the 13th and I've got a bot trying to link farm in my Ft13 marathon thread from over a year ago. The weird thing is it was only 1 of the threads, and it happens to be Jason Goes to Hell, the absolute worst movie of the franchise. At least all the trash is in the same spot I guess.

I tried to post this thread Thursday night, but Bluesky kept eating it when I tried uploading it from my phone. So here's all the food I made for Thanksgiving this year. There were only 4 of us so I went with 2 chickens instead of a turkey.

All the cooking prep for tomorrow is finally done. Apple pie is baked and out of the tart pan. The birds (2 chickens rather than turkey) are spatchcocked, dry brined, and have a roasted garlic paste under their skin. And a good amount of the veggies are chopped. Should make tomorrow much easier.
