Genuine question, how would you rephrase it? As in, sentiments along the lines of "I predict that xyz will happen and I believe it would be a detriment to the game/franchise/etc if it does". Saying "I worry about xyz" just feels like a neutral linguistic shortcut to me despite the overtones.

Autistic burnout happened. I was googling around to see if I could find words to describe the type of bone-deep exhaustion I was feeling, found an autistic burnout symptoms checklist, ticked every single box, and went heywaitaminute and started reexamining my whole life lol

Oh this is gorgeous. Love how ethereal the typewriter looks next to the flowers, the contrast works so well

As a child, a diagnostician told my parents "okay so your daughter technically doesn't have aspergers but you should read this book about parenting a child with aspergers anyway because really a lot of it applies" lmao, probably the best I could have expected as a girl in the 90s with comorbid ADHD

In fairness, regardless of the kid's age, it would sound *really* fake if you've never heard of it before lmao

The hair washing portion is a sensory nightmare for me, so I ask for the water jets to be turned down to a low pressure setting, with water that isn't too hot/cold, and generally for them to handle things gently. Also unscented hair products only

I *love* hugs. They're extremely soothing for me. If there was a practical way to live my life while constantly hugging/being hugged, I would do it lmao

I'm on the hypersensitivity side, my spouse is on the hyposensitivity side. Plenty of Friday/Saturday nights when they go to some crazy loud party and I'm like "bye honey have fun, imma stay on the couch and cuddle our cat some more 🥰" lol works out great both ways

Yuuuup. Back in the early 90s, my parents got the diagnostician conversation of "hey so your daughter doesn't *technically* have aspergers, but you guys should read this book about parenting a child with aspergers anyway because really a lot of it applies" lol

The idea that we need gen ed "AI literacy" on, what, prompting?? is genuinely insane to me. Like sure, AI clearly isn't going anywhere, and it doesn't do much good to bury heads in the sand and pretend otherwise - but the answer isn't to blindly throw everyone into the disinfo machine even harder

I would love if more schools could teach AI literacy - as in, better education on exactly how and why AI tools are so fundamentally flawed and biased, and what you should and shouldn't trust them with

It's in the linked article. "...its earliest uses were primarily to describe problems with the way the body functioned (dealing with impacted teeth, bowels, and suchlike)"

Eh, personally I'm glad they're taking their time, rather than rushing out something sloppy that misses the spirit of trek. They dropped a teaser trailer the other day at least, might help hold you over a bit: youtube.com/watch?v=PjAW...

My experience with fanfic: I was reading (& loving) a WIP fic, saw the author respond to someone else's comment saying that she couldn't find a beta reader, and I volunteered. We became friends from there, and one day she invited me to an established discord server for authors in the fandom.

I'm a few years deep myself. The ups and downs are crazy. Tough not to internalize, and even tougher to find the right balance between pushing too hard and overdoing it vs staying in a rut and not trying to grow. Anyone got a magic wand I can borrow instead?

What's the most ridiculous mispronunciation you've heard? Now I'm curious.
