Okay but “D.B. ‘Dumb bitch’ Cooper – Boomers had it easy (crime style)” would make a fine shirt, is all.

Grew those cone flowers, too, but it’s better described as “didn’t get in their way”

Yesterday I picked some of those flowers I mentioned because @ennuigo.bsky.social was redoing the florals for the week

As with many such things I feel like the David Bowie duet was redemptive. He did go on to pen “burger queen” so yknow, no lessons learned, but hey.

I regret to inform you that it will not remain simple, that is not in how my beloved and I approach basically anything. This little idyll is gonna have a scale map and a planting spreadsheet by 2027

On impulse I plunked down a bunch of gladiolus around the place, this pot was the three I was sure wouldn’t make it. We respect a plant what will not die.

Foxglove loved the front yard: about half of these are volunteers from the initial two. Once we have a trouble of foxglove (foxdie? SNAAAAAAAKE) I'll probably try cutting some

@ennuigo.bsky.social planted this hollyhock last year and it was a challenge to keep it alive— something was snacking on its leaves pretty aggressively, just getting it to flower was an accomplishment

there's a reason starts are expensive: these...forget me nots? (oh, the irony) were started in probably April with the idea of planting them by Derby. it is mid-June. There's a reason nobody is particularly precious about seedlings. 🌱
