I love it when someone seems interested in something I care about. It's the best feeling to watch them explore and answer questions.

It's like they didn't watch the first season.
Were they expecting a new hope?

We're at the "boasting about arresting judges" level of fascism.

They limited enfranchisement because they thought that people were too stupid to be trusted with a vote.

Before the internet you couldn't hear everyone's stories because there was no way for them to communicate what they were going through, or for the supporters of fascism to advertise the joy they got from causing others to suffer.
But it was still happening.

You're in favour of forcing them into spaces that put them at risk of violence that demonstrably happens.
That's infringing their rights.

Gotta give her points for branding. Someone mentions a disgusting bigot gloating over the stripping away of human rights and everyone knows who it is.

"suspected, "possibly", "might have".
They can make all kinds of allegations. Especially against someone who is denied any opportunity to defend or refute.
That's why it's as good an example for the importance of due process as any other.

There are people in Australia who used to support the AUKUS alliance who are saying we should exit it.
You can't negotiate with someone who is lying to you.
The only real option is to look for trading partners that aren't America. And maybe different alliances too.

That post is some melodramatic crybaby accomplishment. That level of hatred towards women cannot be concealed, it's no wonder no one wants to kiss them.

The dude's a conman. The product he's touting is built from stolen content, lazily put together, is ruinous to the physical world and corrosive to the cultural landscape. And it doesn't even have the capacity to become profitable to investors any time soon.

Absolutely. The US' electoral system is a choice between two options, and not making a decision is a choice in itself.
But also, voters respond to the campaign and the Democratic Party has been at pains to protect the image of Republican party and voters and so managed to minimise the threat.

Well yeah. A lot of people who voted for Trump did it because they're terrible people.
But a lot of people who didn't vote for Harris did it because they're not terrible people.
Voter's being shitty is only part of the story, but it's the only part Dems seem interested in acknowledging.

Nothing boosts sales like having the face of the company doing Nazi salutes at Presidential Inaugurations.

Doesn't even matter what country they're in. Just being Tesla is enough to turn them into anti worker grotesques.

People say that Biden beat Trump because Trump was so awful, and it's true, but they forget the part that he promised a whole bunch of stuff that people needed too.
When Americans went to the pole I could list a bunch of promises. I never figured out what Harris' pitch was other than not Trump.

She is not treating it seriously enough. She's considering divorce in a few months, but he's been building evidence for the divorce for months already. If she doesn't act soon she's going to be railroaded.

I cannot repeat enough, no one needs an excuse to leave a relationship that isn't working for them.
They may need support and escape plan.
But they don't need an excuse.

Allegedly the first Olympic event that wasn't a foot race.
So the first one that was fun to watch, really.
Famous story of an Olympic wrestler Arrichion who broke his own neck to win a match.
WWE couldn't write that.
At least I hope not.

A big part of the US' disastrous military failures in the last few decades was driven by the aggressive ignorance of exactly these sort of things.
Sometimes it feels like nothing ever changes.

Bookmarking this for next time one of their touts shows up to gleefully condemn everyone that didn't vote for Harris because Trump's so much worse.

Utterly pathetic. Democratic leadership showing its true colours by enforcing deference to their Republican overlords.

As if he didn't help pave the way.

What this means for academics and scientists is simple:
Defend them against right-wing persecution.
What this means for journalists is simple:
Stand with your colleagues against right-wing assault. Don’t just print bad faith arguments from motivated actors. Tell people who they really are.
