I have a question. It's just curiosity.
I was thinking today about characters that I absolutely associate with writers who did not create them. Like Frank Miller with Daredevil, for example.
If when you think of a character, you associate them with me, who would that be?

Comments
-Catman
-Red Sonja
-Barbara Gordon/Batgirl
And more recently, ROGUE! 😀
Okay, also Babs, Dinah and Helena.
So I'd have to say Huntress, Black Canary, Green Arrow, and Question in Justice League Unlimited's 'Double Date' episode.
Otherwise it'd be the Women in Refrigerators website.
For ones you did create, The Movement. It's my all-time fave, and Tremor means so much to me in terms of ace representation.
In reading the latest issue of Secret Six by @nicoleamaines.bsky.social , one of my first thoughts was "Finally, someone else is making Catman as much a badass as Gail did." Warmed my heart.
Then Secret Six gang.
😊
Black Canary
Catman
Catman
Bane
You know what you did.
“but batgirl wouldn’t care that i’m trans” was a not-uncommon comforting refrain during hard early transition years, thank you 🥲

2) Outlaw
3) Cyclops
Bonus for Fabian: Nomad.
Red Sonja, of course, is another one that comes immediately to mind.
I love when you take some corner of the universe that you didn't create, like the 4th World or Silver Banshee or mutants and you build something new out of it that I completely fall in love with.
Bane
Huntress
DOMINO!
Currently Rogue & Gambit - You're now the only person I trust with their accents.
A whole BUNCH of them IN one!
Like he'd never been anything ever but a bit of a joke until you got a hold of him.
But also Black Canary.
2. Babs & Dinah (tie)
1. Red Sonja
What a run in the 90's, had such an impact on the Comic book landscape at the time
So much so, Sony ripped you off for their Kraven movie!!
But seriously, I think at this point probably Red Sonja, since your take is a lot more modern and fresh on what could be a tired trope.
Oracle
Huntress
Catman

Deadpool
Cyclops' ass and heat beams
"Deadpool season!"
"Catman season!"
"Deadpool season!"
"Catman season!"
"Deadpool season!"
Barbara Gordon
Dinah Lance
Catman
Wonder Woman
Huntress
I think you wrote definitive versions of those characters (and many more)
Lady Blackhawk
Black Canary
Deadpool. No doubt about it. The Wade that most people know and love is all you.
Also Black Canary, Oracle, Huntress, and let's be honest, you utterly remade and breathed new life into Catman.
Probably also Barbara Gordon, mostly from New 52 Batgirl but also Birds of Prey
Not Barbara Gordon (well, sort of...), but *specifically* 'Oracle' Barbara Gordon.
Having that character was deeply meaningful to me, and I still miss the original. And knowing how much you put into her to make her what she was then, I'm left deeply thankful.
Also Cyclops for different reasons.
He became my #1 favorite DC character of all-time because of the Secret Six run you co-wrote. I was convinced for a few years you actually created him cause I liked the idea of Deadshot being created by a woman. 😭
If I was to narrow it down, perhaps Scandal & Catman.
But when I think of Gail?
I think of Star-Blossom. And that *always* gives me a smile, no matter how bad my day might be going.
Thanks for all the smiles, Gail. ❤️⭐🌸
