There are conflicting scientific papers dependent upon approach, evolution, biological, psychological. There are also different types of altruism, family, reciprocal, group, moral. I do believe that humans care about the welfare of others, & empathy drives altruism. If pure Altruism even exists…?

Pay fair wages to your workers so that Maslow Heirachy of needs can be achieved. If human beings aren’t scrabbling for a living they have time to consider other human beings & the effects of the disparity of wealth around the world. Altruism is a basic human drive, we need it for social cohesion
