They're good, but a co-worker gave me a bag of Bali's Best Coffee Candy, and now I'm hooked. The only problem is they're made in Indonesia, and they're expensive enough now. With with tariffs, who knows? However, I see Werthers are made in Germany. Sigh.
ItΒ΄s a drink that fits perfect for the X-Mas season, combining the taste of coconut and cream! Looks a bit disgusting though... brown, and some particles do not fully dissolve. But very tasty!
I didnβt like caramels at all when I was a kid, definitely not hard caramels. At 51, Iβve come to my senses. Those things slap (as the youngs say).
Sometimes the wisdom of the elders is unclear to the young. I've started carrying peppermints. Not the starlight mints in the plastic wrappers, not at that stage yet, just a box of Altoids. Actually quite soothing to the stomach and probably not as toxic as antacids. I get it now. Grandpa was right.

Catheters add extra convenience to long walks & plane journeys too.
Age shall not wither them.
As for the totally legal drugs, trippy.
It may be Gods waiting room, but it has added depth to it.
My nan used to eat those when I was a kid. I remember that the texture was nice, but I could never decide if I liked or disliked the flavour, it kind of hit both notes for me. /random anecdote
The hardest thing about getting older is recognizing why old people always did the shit they did.
I understand now what old people always seem grumpy. Weβre not grumpy. Weβve just seen this movie before and we know how itβs gonna end. And we donβt have a lot of time so letβs move it along.
The sugarfree version is equally addictive and the regular companion to my coffee. Sadly, it's not just old people. If my son doesn't stop stealing them, I'm never going to get this book written...
And then one day, you will realize that after you have sucked on one for a while you can take it out of your mouth, twist it back into its cellophane wrapper and slip it into your pocket to save the rest for later. (Ignore the lint stuck to it.)
Mint isn't my favorite, though when I was a child long, long ago I liked mint chocolate chip ice cream. Still like Thin Mints, Junior Mints, and Andes Mints, too!
There was one ice cream place I went to on vacation as a kid that had mint ice cream without the chocolate and I loved it. I always thought the chocolate chips in the mint tasted like plastic. Never seen it again. Peppermint ice cream is also pretty good even with the candy cane bits.
My therapist told me that mints actually help you reconnect with your body when youβre disassociating after she caught me hitting the altoids tin a bit often during sessions.
I remember, 50 years ago at the age of 5, getting them from the grumpy neighbor across the street from time to timeβonly when he was in a good mood. A living room that smelled of cigars and dust, which I didnβt like. But the taste of the candyβ¦ so good.
My previous supervisor at the library I worked at used to give me those candies. I used to call them PopPop candies. I always felt older and wiser whenever I ate them.
Lol. I find myself eating the peppermint candies that "old people" used to sneak me when I was a kid with a new appreciation, and desire to pass on the wonderfulness.
Lo, how the wheel turns.
π€As a miniaturist, I had a custom order for a bag of Werther's Original. I bought a bag to get it right and decided to try one and had that thought too. π€·π»ββοΈπ€¦π»ββοΈ
Iβll take a lemon drop any day over caramel. It was what my great-grandmother gave us as little kids. Her daughter-in-law (my grandma) had the orange slices (candy) & fudge bars.

You are also completely correct, as I have been saying now, myself, for quite some time.

My wife's grandparents always had them out and damn, they are satisfying to enjoy
