Thanks, it's very appreciated. I'll check them out sometime this year, potentially near end of summer so I have best protection during cold months.

I got my relatively intense case of covid covid ~14 months after my last vaccination.
STIKO/RKI guidelines don't account for this sort of short activity period of the vaccine.

It's possible to get around this, but how come I can get a flu shot same day at my Hausärztin but need to schedule covid vaccine few weeks out at a different doctor's office? I was actually going to try to get a booster in 2024 then had to move, didn't find time, then shortly after got covid.

I agree, what I was saying is that the guidelines make it much harder to get a booster and do not consider that you need it maybe once a year (if not more often).
comment in response to

I already have a Hausärztin, doing trial and error to find one willing to do vaccinations despite recommendations seems very time consuming. I may still do it when I find more time, but it's bad for public health to make it so hard.

I think hope is a great driver to have, but if it's all you've got and you keep being let down, that's pretty bad.
Hope is good, just be careful about what you set your scope of hope to, so you're not lead to apathy.

I implore you to look up pictures and videos of the gezi park protests, they were fired up as well, possibly moreso than the US ones.

Yes, RKI guidelines say you need to be old (65+ iirc) or have a weakened immune system or be close to someone who is in those two groups (working or living with old people etc) to get a booster if you already had a third? fourth? shot. If you want it yearly it's very restricted.

I worry that if you get to 3.5% without it leading to anything, it may lead to apathy, and less may turn out. I think having goals to look forward is good, but false hopes are scary.

+1.
Here's an example from another part of the world: 4.3% turnout back in 2013, and the leadership has been unchanged for the last 12 years.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, unfortunately.

I was bedridden for 2 weeks pretty much. My sense of smell has not returned.
(To my knowledge I have a normal immune system.)
We either need better vaccines, or we need RKI to relax their policies for who qualifies for the boosters (which is the reason why I wasn't vaccinated in 2024).

I got ~7-8 (last 3 bivalent) with last dose in late 2023, all mrna (mostly comirnaty). Would do it again.
I masked with a well fitting 3M FFP2 since 2020 when outside, haven't dined outside or made exceptions for friends.
I still caught it somehow in Nov 2024. It was awful.

"die Impfung hoch wirksam war" is very much a matter of perspective tbh.
It stopped the worst of covid and that was great, but ofc covid is still around and the vaccines end up with declining antibodies after half a year or so. Not so "hoch wirksam" imo.
I think we deserve a better one.

Weird title tbh. She injected herself and him with heroin with them both agreeing to it, then he OD'd. Not so poison, not as intentional as the title implies. She was found guilty of unintentional manslaughter.
but other than the sensationalist title, very fun article. didn't know of this incident.

Been a few months since I spent time to understand the notification code and I've no idea how the anim rendering works, but wouldn't it make more sense to move the trigger for the vibration elsewhere (end of anim etc) as opposed to adding an additional timer every time with hardcoded timings?

no. I am saying that they have a potential way to actually know vs just speculating that the guy's badge is so.

Are there *any* voice actors that are paid millions (of USD's worth)?
Maybe famous actors voicing entire animated movies or similar?
Perhaps Keanu Reeves on Cyberpunk 2077 (esp as they also uses his likeness)?

I do think that now Iran is much more likely to escalate this to nuclear warfare if they successfully manufacture warheads.
I'm not sure what the right course of action was, but more tensions in the middle east is concerning overall.

Agreed, but the vibe seems to be on the side of "Russia wants nothing to do with this"

It's already known that a bunch on their main nuclear, uh, enrichment center(?) is underground. They even planned to move it under a mountain.
But, it did have above ground segments which got attacked several times over the day.

it makes sense. switch 2 presumably has a more standard usb c video output, and dock reflects that.
switch 1 was just fucked from the beginning on that front.

I think the idea is to close those paths and open this up.
The problem is that that one is approved until, what, 2027?

nop, it's commerce.
on federal level it's BOP (bureau of prisons), some (all?) states do call their state's equivalent department of corrections tho.

Notably: Each country handles their API themselves (US gets info on travel to, within and out of US)
However, this data includes travel abroad too. Why does DHS need all the air france data, for example?
comment in response to
post
Legally required to be provided advanced passenger info is a different beast than govt entities paying for buying data that they're not entitled to.
I'd even bet that this isn't as "live" as API, which is sent as late as an hour before flight, with the ability to reject boarding because of it.

(big relevant part is: I have other consoles like a steam deck that just fits most of my gaming needs. I boot up my switch rarely. If I used my console to play more than zelda and mario every now and then, I'd probably feel differently on how reckless it is for me to get it.)
comment in response to

I can afford it, but that's only because I earn well and have some financial control to not spend my money too recklessly.
Accordingly, I haven't gotten a Switch 2 because 450eur console with 80eur games feels like spending my money recklessly.
