No disrespect to the larger members of society, but "Doug Ford cheesecake" is not an appealing image.

I love the self-deprecating way MapQuest says "we have nothing better to do", having gone from the dominant map to one no one even remembers.
Have to go see if it's a decent replacement for Google Maps.

He was misquoted, he said "the nation"

They could save money and just reuse the letters: "Don't believ" or splurge and buy a vowel, Pat.

Not a fan myself, but it could be they used that justification to avoid setting a precedent of policing (and thus taking responsibility for) what's sold. I support that approach as long as the site is down anyway.

And they probably won't care. Eliminating the penny and rounding off (as in Canada) is in some ways formalizing those "have-a-penny/leave-a-penny" trays at the cash. Most people won't take nor leave more than 3. I suspect most of the takes from those trays were by the cashier/owner anyway.

Retailers round up or down in Canada because it's baked into the law discontinuing the penny.

I disagree complete. We'll all believe it, would have guessed it, and deplore it. :(

I'll request them all, even though I don't read paper books any more. I've requested things before, some showed up and some didn't

Guess I was looking for ebooks. I found one (on the waitlist).

Much as I have a fondness for the NDP, this is the only way Liberals can win, or even hold Conservatives to a minority: move votes from the NDP.

Your books don't seem to be at OPL (1 is). Do we all need to request or are you able to push from your end?

Read-only includes copy. They just can't make changes (if you believe they have read-only and not read-write).

See if you take a dozen at a time and put them in your jacket, they could shift around and maybe get damaged. IOW, with 12 you get egg roll.

I get and enjoy your email every day. Bonus points for use of "Gordie" as cliche Canadian name. :)

I read the whole customs document and can't find a reference, so that may mean it applies.

This is going to kill cross-border grocery shopping. Have they said how it interacts with duty-free limits for 24hr and 48hr stays?

Sure, but it seems you're attributing to Legault a service motive that might be explained by self-interest. "Knows how a majority government works" indeed, like forcing through legislation with the notwithstanding clause, same as Douggie.
comment in response to

While I agree with the sentiment, your graphic is misleading. The last row should read
[Ford] Likely to win a bigger majority,
[Legault] Likely to lose next election.

This is so engrained in the public consciousness that the Canadian website says your DON'T have to carry their card at all times. "You don’t need to carry your [Canadian] Confirmation of Permanent Residence form or your permanent resident card around with you." www.canada.ca/en/immigrati...

In the case cited, they didn't enforce just warned. I'm not sure that's necessarily doing them a favour, I know white Canadians who didn't have their GC when they entered, were allowed in with a warning (so didn't take it seriously) and after a couple of times got a significant fine.

It's always been the law (or if not since 1940, almost always).

To be fair, "must have been card at all times" is the law. Do they were doing her a favour in that case.

You chose to go to that store instead of another (whether more or less convenient) that didn't have the chicken. And if you didn't know about the chicken when choosing a store, now you do and you're more likely to go back.
