See: American third parties being completely useless, for example. Even the Green Party up here in Canada (which had seats in Parliament) got messed up by not having a coherent party base once their popular leader stepped down and people from all sorts of ideologies ran for leadership.

Yeah, I think that's a fair assessment. I do think more fringe groups are more likely to get those types (as a percentage of total membership) in part because the ones who aren't like that may be more likely to look into more mainstream groups that have more of a chance of influencing policy.

Honestly I might follow you once I'm done Hundred Line because I don't wanna be spoiled but your posts on it that were shared around helped convince me to get it at full price so I guess I'm the opposite of that maybe?

This is how I found out that Maddy made a new SMW hack! Celeste is one of my favourite games so that's exciting, even more motivation to finally start trying out Kaizo (although I was still planning to play some more non-Kaizo hacks before really diving into it)

If it's a safe seat in Alberta or Saskatchewan there's no way he'd lose it. This will probably be a political black eye for him regardless of what happens though. If people in the party want to depose him as leader, this is what they point to.

Gotta go with Kid Icarus here. Uprising is one of my favourites, and a new one on a console with dual sticks would be a slam dunk.

CAD/USD*
comment in response to

Guessing it's because the CSD/USD exchange rate is worse than it was in 2017. $100 CAD is close to $70 USD now, when back then the dollars were closer together.
Either way, yeah, it sucks. It's definitely a factor in sticking with my Switch 1/Steam Deck combo for now.

Already done my part! Here's hoping he doesn't become PM.

Mainstreet did a good job on the New Brunswick provincial election last year. I don't really think they suck overall, but I certainly hope the Conservatives do worse than they are projecting and that they are wrong overall, because the Bloc holding the balance of power seems like it could get dicey.

(Note: the thing I complimented Mainstreet on most, their riding-level results, currently have the Liberals winning a majority, and even did in their poll that had the Liberals down a point.)

I'm not sure if they're the absolute gold standard poll, that's likely Leger, but I'm not discounting them.

Honestly Mainstreet got the New Brunswick election down better than anyone else over here. They even called Blaine Higgs's seat being really close, which I don't think anyone was expecting at all (let alone him losing his seat like what ended up happening).

Unless something changes from now until the election, of course.

The 2015 election, that is.
comment in response to

Of note is that the Liberals were rising in the polls really close to the election, so it's possible the polls didn't catch that because they didn't have time to.

God it does and it never stops :(

To be clear, Mainstreet still has this as giving the Liberals a majority, which is kinda wild

Provincial Tories, not federal Tories.

Cataclysmically so (Mainstreet has them at 9 seats from this poll)

More than one of the Donkey Kong games are absolute classics (DK '94, all the DKC games, the arcade original to an extent, even if it's kinda rough to go back to) or are at least interesting enough that they really fascinate me (DK64), but only one Yoshi game is probably at that level, so yeah

I'm definitely in a similar boat where I'm gonna focus on my huge game pile-up (I'm just discovering the PS1 and PS2 libraries now, on top of all the Steam games I gotta play), but I'm not expecting a price drop unless it flops on release. They're a lot less common with consoles these days.

Jobst was involved in the RWhiteGoose controversy from a few years back where he was on a server where RWhiteGoose was being a Nazi and being really chummy with him. I honestly dunno why everyone memoryholed his involvement in that. Plus apparently he used to run a pick up artist Youtube channel?

IIRC it wasn't particularly notable in terms of quality. It wasn't really good but it wasn't absolutely unreadable.
