You're not gonna believe it but it just happened again. Spent 2 hours cleaning out every single remnant of the old GPU drivers, installed the latest driver available, and the second I re-enable Windows Update it IMMEDIATELY goes and fucks it all up. What. The. Fuck.

Windows Update is actually braindead, it has reverted my Intel GPU drivers back to an old version from 2022 TWICE today. Both times I DDU'd the old driver and fresh installed the up-to-date one. It also keeps installing the wrong driver for my webcam and breaking Windows Hello. This is insufferable.

We have no proof that deepseek actually cost $5m to train nor that it was done on "old chips". Nevertheless there is a potential this narrative catches on. Biggest story here is that most LLM benchmarks are kind of bullshit, so deepseek could be "fooling them," but only in the same way o1 does?
