At peak times on weekdays... Wow, thanks.

Or don't actually exist, while the street is much wider than it needs to be for bi-directional traffic. You know that bit of your front yard that the city 'owns', well you can take mine for a sidewalk?! How do I submit a proposal for a new sidewalk?

So, literally, a market?! Radical thinking eh?

Heading out on my fat bike now for a play along the river as not many more chances left! Was going to skate on the canal but a bit too chilly at the slow pace I go...

Great to find you here! I used to follow you, over there... :-)

I do! I manage at least one #Spaced quote every day, much to my wife's chagrin!!

I'll add - take your trail shoes and run up Arthur's Seat...

You talk and discuss a lot, when are you going to do something about the issues you have been hearing so much about - for anyone, anywhere be they rural, suburban, or urban?

I could stomach the OSEG 'influence' if the scheme included a commitment to integrating Lansdowne into an effective transport network. I went to the Charge game on Saturday and got off the bus on Bank as it was quicker to walk.

It also stops those puddles forming at every sidewalk/street interface that can be at best inconvenient when water and at worst dangerous when frozen.

What's your point here, that it's difficult if not dangerous being a pedestrian in this city?

Yesterday were the Somersault events Embrace Winter running races here in Ottawa. People ran distances from a full marathon to 1km in those conditions! #WinterEmbraced

You can't do it with most automatic transmissions either, which are the largest proportion in north America. Know where to stop with a view to getting going again...

Just saw you running along Richmond Road, how did you find the sidewalks, thinking of people with mobility issues? Notice the completely clear roads though... #Auttowa

What is an acoustic?! Is it not simply a bike!?

There are restrictions on L and R turns at the north end of Clifton Rd in Ottawa. Crossing in front of a taxi signalling for an illegal (?) R turn I pointed at the clear sign in his direct line of sight as he inched into my path. He just put the window down and told me to call 311!! Shameless.

Mine stays in my wallet 24/7 but hoping to never need it. Thank you for making them.

I see the potential for this time and time again with the Right Turn On Red situation. Drivers are more focused on checking to the left for pulling out than looking for pedestrians from the right. Usually compounded by the fact that vehicles are rarely brought to rest before executing the manoeuvre.

But what are YOU doing to help, as the Mayor?

It's the same here in Ottawa. @abetterottawa.bsky.social

Have you tried the Pitbull x Dolly version though, that'll change the game a bit?!

Can you post your density / taxes / services diagram please? I lost it when I moved from X!

As a systems engineer I spend considerable time explaining how understanding the operating context / environment (aka the Wider System of Interest) is imperative. It directly affects how your system will perform and leads to emergent behaviours that will need to be managed. #SystemsThinking

Weirdly, in Ontario it's not law to have a rear light, as long as you have a reflector, and that awesome red and white reflective tape that's a legal requirement too! Cross the bridge from Ottawa to Gatineau and I can lose the tape but now need pedal / ankle and tire / wheel reflectors too!

Can you make something along the lines of "Press here to beg to the car overlords" for crossing signal buttons?! Alternatively can you tell me your supplier and I'll do them!

Fitzgerald, I'm hoping they mysteriously disappear and I can get some simple staples put in!!

Good luck running those on most of the sidewalks, particularly where they interface with the street!

I nearly came a cropper on that running along there yesterday morning.

Do you notice how the lighting along there is all above the road and there is none whatsoever for the MUP on the northern side? Nice safe place to walk along in the dark. Your picture shows it perfectly! @jleiper.bsky.social
