I just got a phone call from someone advertising a GDC event... wtf!

I put together a "1 click" utility that converts Fujifilm MPO files -> SBS -> Spatial Photos for Apple Vision Pro It combines CLI utilities from Stereoautoalign and Spatial Video Tools to batch process a series of image github.com/azadbal/MPO-...

Currently dealing with two opinions at odds with each other 1. meta horizon worlds is cancer and is killing the quest vr dev ecosystem 2. meta horizon worlds is the reason why meta is subsidizing the headsets, which is how the quest dev vr exist in the first place Thoughts?

The camera’s here and I’m lovin it! Fantastic camera baseline, optical zoom, surprisingly decent quality in low light, a 3D display for preview, auto-alignment during capture, and a satisfying flip up/down mechanism for turning it on—15 year old tech! Will work on converting to spatial photos!

Bach droppin a new banger soon y’all get ready

just bought a 15 year old 3D camera (Fujifilm w3) shipping from Japan lets goooo my stereographs/spatial photos will finally include people and other non-static subjects 😆

The reason I’m in Bsky is because I missed seeing a lot of your faces on Twitter Glad to see that there is a place where a lot of the vr world congregated outside of twitter

New 3D scan from my Ruins of Ani series “Monastery of the Hripsimian Virgins” Links to view/download a mesh and Gaussian splat bellow 👇

Found a neat use case of my Vision Pro: previewing 3D prints before printing them. Visualizing the scale of prints is always hard—not anymore! The workflow is super easy. Export model as USDZ from blender and open it in Vision Pro.

Church of Saint Gregory (Exterior) - Ruins of Ani gaussian splat to be viewed in VR. Gracia ai link below

btw - this is what a photogrammetry project looks like you have a whole bunch of photos (in this case 1180 images from a DSLR and a drone) where you compare high contrast features against one another to find shared tie points, which make up the point cloud that you see next, for meshing

btw I make all my 3D scans 1:1 scale to explore in VR btw viewable as gaussian splats... coming soon!

A few year ago, my wife and I went to Turkey to 3D scan the ruins of Ani, the medieval capital of Armenia I’m finally starting to publish my work—downloadable via sketchfab for free! Links below 👇
