I have this feeling that over the next few weeks I might like to note and mark what I was doing five years ago. Because it is big and real and still feels incredibly present in our lives. I'll use the hashtag #fiveyearson which as far as I can tell is only used about Covid. Do mute if you need.

Good afternoon from this majestic boy 🥰🦋 Orchard Swallowtail, born this morning

This clearly negates all the coal mines and fracking they’ve waved through and I’m sure it has nothing to do with an election coming up.

We probably would have had those French submarines by now…..

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.

This was a set up. To corner Zelensky. To manoeuvre him into an intolerable position. His defiance will be positioned as justification for Putin to do his worst. Just vile of Trump.

Throwback to the sharpest eyelashes on the planet. Miss you Maggie. 💛💔💛 🌈 🐾 #goldenretriever #heartdog

the girls have started moulting and loretta is looking ROUGH. moulting is the definition of “trust the process”

It occurs to me that the person in charge of this grievously underperforming and apparently cratering company, who has not set foot in the office for months now, should probably send shareholders a list of the 5 things he accomplished last week on their behalf or risk being fired.

Last election, the Coalition ran a campaign claiming independents were powerless and could achieve nothing. This election they’re complaining independents are too influential in their advocacy. 😅 Here’s SOME of what they’ve achieved… www.indiewins.com.au

👊AUKUS is a political brainfart allegedly devised by a small influential cabal to empty AUs common wealth into the tax dodging family trusts of the few to nuclear the lifestyles they've become accustomed to living while imposing decades of austerity on the many to pay for it. 👊 NO Duttons. No Rupes.

Sovereign defence capability should be built on sovereign Australian companies, but defence procurement doesn't properly consider the unfair advantage multinationals have in being able to shift their profits internationally and minimise tax. I think this needs to change.

three dogs is too many dogs but gosh i love these goobers so much

This is what the internet is for

Kid texts me from his bedroom

That’s more like it.

Heartbreaking

So, it will be fine for me to now complain directly to Kim Williams about the ABC’s partiality for Kelpies on Muster Dogs?

How I feel too.

Some sweet little double-barred finches as I head off to bed. G'night!

I saw the Kanye ad yesterday (it aired in the Philly market, where we were) but didn't click on the link. Today I found out it went to a website selling swastika T-shirts. This was a Superbowl ad. And it was to a website selling swastika T-shirts. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

The colony of Blue Banded Bees continues to grow ♥️🐝

We farewelled our beautiful Maggie yesterday. I am heartsore to my bones and beyond. Gentle, full of love, stoic, trusting, wise about the important stuff, my constant companion. Thank you Maggie.

she’s like the hypnotoad if she detects something tasty being eaten

For the major parties to push through mandatory minimum sentencing on the Hate Crimes Bill today shows once again their contempt for due process and matters of principle. It is for the courts to decide punishments, not politicians. #auspol #politas

Yesterday, I returned from 3 weeks in Costa Rica, where I went to find out what can be learned from their spectacular success rewilding a country. I cannot overstate how awe-inspiring the trip was: nature loss CAN be reversed on a huge scale, benefiting *everyone*.
