Tumblr seems to be having a renaissance lately! I mean, so many Meta posts were just screencaps of old Tumblr threads. I do wonder what the current content politics of Tumblr are, though; ISTR some restrictions that pissed off fandom for good reason like 5-7 years ago and that was why people left?

It didn’t automatically work for me either, I had to go back-and-forth and do some weird stuff because it was asking for a code I never saw. I wonder how many people they are planning to let in to the beta?

we're in a time where trust is eroding and information can help people make critical choices about their safety, their families, their jobs, and their lives.
depending on AI to garner this information is unethical. LLMs are trained on information that isn't current, and it can just make shit up.

Buying everything from Amazon still can’t buy you that: the connections to the places you live in.

I loaded all of my purchases onto my bike, and while I was doing that, had a conversation with passersby about the signage promoting an upcoming event. And then I biked home with my books and socks and pizza in the noontime sunshine, waving at neighbors along the way.

But my Tuesday: I went to grab Onyx Storm from my local bookstore. When I walked out, the pizza place next door was just opening for lunch. While I waited for my pizza, I wandered into the clothing store two doors down from that that I’d never noticed before, and bought delightfully purple socks.

(Seriously tho, if you can preorder books you know you’ll want to buy, do it, it really really helps authors. And you can do the same with libraries for books that you know you’ll want to read but can’t commit to buying ahead of time!)

Thanks for the confirmation! With so many possible TLD‘s these days, it feels harder and harder to assess the authenticity of an email address.
