I see people musing that the vibe here has changed, and I would urge people to remember that there's a lot of anxiety about the change of administration in two weeks and that's going to leak into a lot of other places in one's life. Be as gracious as you can with yourself and others.

Sewing is one of my favorite new capabilities in recent years. Just being able to mend fabric objects opens up a whole world. Backpack stitches failing, ski glove closure fell off? Easy fix. Line ‘em up and add a tally to the ‘sewing machine justification’ list.

I just want transportation officials who say true things like "urban interstates were a big mistake, ripping canyons of polluted death trenches through neighborhoods, and we truly regret ever having done it...
