Honestly, I can’t even with this

On TV at the same time: NAVARRO: “This is not a negotiation.” LUTNICK: “Of course they are” open to negotiation. 🤡

“Whatever.” Lol. Buncha dummies!

If "protests in all 50 states" wanted above-the-fold coverage in @nytimes.com, they should have been "seven random Americans" instead

Have a day, Jesse! 👏

Breaking News: A senior Justice Department lawyer was put on leave after questioning the administration’s decision to deport a Maryland man to El Salvador.

A+ community note.

The White House just issued this statement: “The President won his second round matchup of the Senior Club Championship today in Jupiter, FL, and advances to the Championship Round tomorrow.” How’s this real life?

Now that’s a split-screen. ⛳️ @wsj.com

Can you impeach a president for deliberately destroying the U.S. economy?

They said we'd have a record-beating economy, and they were right - largest two days of wealth destruction in nominal dollar terms *ever*:

Kamala warned everyone many times that "If Trump wins, we will enter a recession by the middle of next year."…..at this rate we're ahead of schedule

It’s. 👏🏼 Not. 👏🏼 Just. 👏🏼 About. 👏🏼 The tariffs. 👏🏼 (via Apollo’s slide deck this am)

Andy Kim: "If you want to know why there is so much chaos and confusion about what happened with regard to tariffs, I can say it's because of the absolute dysfunction of this national security council as demonstrated by what just happened with Laura Loomer."

Tell me again why we’re letting a 78 year old, legit smelly, odorous, frail, loser old man who bankrupted a CASINO bankrupt the country? Congress? Any answers?

You expected something different from a guy who inherited $400 million and went bankrupt?

Mark Kelly: "This is not surprising. Here's a guy who told Americans to inject bleach into their bodies, who sent a mob to Capitol Hill. And now I think it's fair to say he stands out as singlehandedly destroying more wealth with his bad decisions than anybody else who has ever lived on this planet"

Obama: Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials. Imagine if I had said to law firms that you will not be allowed into government buildings. It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me

Here he is today, deeply concerned about economic hardship caused by his tariff scheme.

$3 TRILLION wiped from the stock market today….but glad dear leader got to hit some balls at his golf course out in Miami today on the taxpayers dime….oh and with a beautiful swing like that no wonder he wins club championships every weekend

* NASDAQ 100 FUTURES FALL 20% FROM ALL-TIME HIGHS @reuters.com

YARDENI: “.. It’s really a shame that Trump is so willing to take a wrecking ball to the economy. .. We are losing our confidence that it can remain resilient .. data suggests that stagflation is already eroding .. “.. it’s getting harder to be optimistic, but we are doing the best we can ..”

And we’re all going to pay the price

"It’s the instinct to measure wins in units of pain and suffering. It’s an assumption that the only way to help yourself is to hurt other people. This is just what America is now." www.wired.com/story/trump-...

#BREAKING US tariff moves could see global merchandise trade volumes shrink 1% in 2025: WTO chief

So good. 🤡 @brendanvduke.bsky.social

Biden didn’t fix egg prices.

NEW — After putting all Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS) employees on administrative leave Monday, I'm told DOGE is canceling congressionally-appropriated grants to state libraries across the entire country. Libraries are getting notice that funding was canceled as of 4/1. More here:

Disney ran “like a scared mouse from any possible confrontation with Donald Trump or his state-sponsored retribution apparatus.” It wasn’t enough. @bethkowitt.bsky.social @mattbelloni.bsky.social $DIS www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

Another one! This is St. Pierre et Miquelon. Population: 5819. It now has one of the world’s highest tariffs - 99%. The US imported only $3.5M of its shellfish last yr. BUT the island imports ZERO from the US. So, the idiotic White House formula (imports v exports) couldn’t cope. It spat out 99%.

I tried to figure out what exactly the new China tariff was last night. The White House wasn’t sure, and then told me it was a “pointless aside” to write about that. (It’s 79%)

Trump today: "Great Depression ... would have never happened if they had stayed with the tariff policy." Reagan, 1988: "When Congress passed the... tariff in 1930, we were told it would protect America from foreign competition... The actual result was the Great Depression."

The last time the US set tariffs this high, it was 1930 -- and it sparked a global trade war that caused international trade to PLUMMET. By 66%.

Let's zoom in on the "not too much time" here. Does anyone know how long it takes to set up a manufacturing plant? Not just the physical building but the supply chains? hiring? "not much time". Since the time can't be much less than 3 yrs at the absolute minimum ...

George HW Bush marveled at a new kind of grocery scanner in 1992 and was pilloried for being out of touch. Trump — who’s repeatedly said you need to show photo ID buying food — now insists “groceries” is some obscure term he recovered from the distant past and we’ll just move right along.

Forgive me for being out of my depth here but why are we basing our economic policy on the 1800s

Can’t help but feel that if President Bernie Sanders pulled this move the entirety of American business would try to get him pushed out of office immediately.

Obama worked out a deal that stopped Iran's nuclear weapons program but then Trump, of course, ripped it up out of stupid spite, allowing them to get back on track. If Trump is now in a position to "eradicate the threat" it's only because he *caused* the threat in the first place.

The last day on which a majority of the Supreme Court’s justices had been appointed by Democratic presidents was May 14, 1969. One of the things we do in the legal academy is support our claims with facts.

Imagine complaining that the opposing candidate was "bought and paid for" when your guy *literally* had the richest man in the world handing out checks for a million dollars for your guy.

Random quote from MLK - no reason “The great glory of American democracy is the right to protest for right.”

“But her emails!”

Frightening but is anyone surprised
