Trump is also saying that the once the US has rounded up individuals, with minimal or zero due process, on whatever pretext they choose, they can send them out of the US to face torture, death, life imprisonment, slave labor or other fates that are unconstitutional or illegal in the US.

#TrumpParade 🤣🤣

This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

HAPPENING NOW: The Justice Department has missed a 5pm deadline to file details about Kilmar Abrego Garcia's whereabouts and efforts to comply with a judge's otder to facilitate his return. Still waiting to see if they're just a few minutes behind or not planning to file at all

NEW: The Trump regime continues to defy court orders, and lawyers for Abrego Garcia - the Maryland father illegally disappeared to El Salvador - have initiated contempt proceedings. My latest: www.muellershewrote.com/p/contempt-p...

Americans used to call the Canadian dollar the "northern peso." At the rate it's falling now, Canadians will soon be calling the U.S. dollar the "southern ruble."

JFC. "only those who voted in a few Democratic counties."

The Trump regime wants this so bad.

“.. Carney didn’t need to shout. .. He lined up the free world—Japan, the EU, Canada in lockstep—and showed Trump the cliff’s edge. .. “.. Little triggers and strategies you get when the world’s most respected economist is your PM.” @deanblundell.bsky.social 🇨🇦 open.substack.com/pub/deanblun...

Thanks so much to PleinAir Salon and juror Lori Putnam for awarding my painting "Best Nocturne" in the March Competition "Light in the Forest" #Watercolor - 24x18 inches @bsky.art

When Trump changed sides in Russia’s war against Ukraine, Republicans acted as if nothing had changed. It takes a special talent to betray an entire worldview without missing a beat:

Panicked SocSec staffers: “If bad actors have access to this database, they could essentially erase people and destroy their lives.” The Trump Administration: “Wait, really?” wapo.st/3RKSQQt

Marth Stewart went to prison for insider trading on *one* stock. Marjorie Taylor Greene bought *17* stocks just before Donald Trump declared his "pause" in tariffs that caused those stocks to rise in value. How many others were tipped off? How many stocks did Donald buy? Ivanka? Mike Johnson?

"Everyone will understand that the Administration is lying through its teeth. We made a deal w/ the devil to send TdA members & pay him for their brutal incarceration. The notion that it would be near impossible to ask him to send A-G back is hard to swallow." open.substack.com/pub/harrylit...

It is disgraceful that the Trump administration is using their “Ideological Deportation Policy” to silence students and faculty for their political beliefs. I’m co-leading a group of AGs in calling on the courts to block this dangerous policy and protect university communities.

Hard to believe the hill the Justice Department wants to die on, we don’t want to comply with your order so we aren’t going to. Nothing like engaging in explicitly lawless behavior they don’t even pretend to regret.

NEW: The Acting Director of the Immigration Courts issues a new memo purporting to authorize immigration judges to deny asylum applications without ever having a hearing. It's not clear that she has legal authority to do this; as Director, she isn't permitted to set precedent.

Not for nothing, but how, exactly, is it legal to send people for *punishment* in a foreign prison (esp with no due process)? Were the funds being used for it appropriated for this purpose? I feel this has just become a thing no one questions

Some personal news: the Department of Homeland Security has given me, an immigration lawyer born in Newton, Massachusetts, seven days to leave the U.S. Does anyone know if you can get Italian citizenship through great-grandparents?

Xi: “You don’t have all the cards.”

Raskin: If they can just sweep someone off the street, put them on an airplane, and send them to a torturer’s prison in an authoritarian state like El Salvador without due process… then they could do it to anybody.

If I were Judge Xinis, I would order the government to produce, in her courtroom, officials who were in a position to answer her questions and to do so under oath. Letting DOJ continue to prevaricate and deflect responsibility in written submissions seems ... insufficient at this point.

BREAKING: An immigration court determined our client Mahmoud Khalil to be removable from the U.S. based solely on his political speech. The fight isn't over — we'll keep fighting for Mahmoud's freedom and all of our First Amendment rights in federal court.

A standoff is coming.

Very informative chart from Washington Post

The government acknowledges that it ripped our client Mahmoud Khalil from his home and his family solely because of his political beliefs and expression. Ideas aren’t illegal. Mahmoud must be released.

Seeing posts go viral by pointing out if the stock market goes down 50% on one day and up 50% the next day, you aren’t back where you started. $100 -> $50 -> $75. We are so cooked if elementary school math is blowing people’s minds like this.

"The President would look feckless if the administration tells a federal judge it can’t get its prisoner back, especially since the United States is reportedly footing the $6 million bill for the incarceration of the deportees." joycevance.substack.com/p/the-suprem...

Sec. of State Marco Rubio has written in a memo that Mahmoud Khalil is subject to deportation because “the alien's past, current, or expected beliefs” have “potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States.” His position is potential thoughts are grounds for deportation

Read this. Read this. Read this. King shit. newrepublic.com/post/193852/...

BREAKING: The country of Norway just entered a bill to give transgender Americans asylum in the country of Norway… LGBTQ+ STRONG! 🌈✨

So now all the “fiscal conservatives” in Congress who complained for the last 4 years that the Biden/Pelosi budget deficits were “mortgaging our kids’ futures” are on a path to pass a budget that will explode the deficit exponentially to far more than any of the Biden years.

Border Patrol’s official narrative on its January sweep in Kern County is not true. Great reporting and storytelling in this new 15-minute documentary from @sergioolmos.bsky.social, @wendyfry.bsky.social and @evidentmedia.org calmatters.org/economy/2025...

This government is not legitimate.

From SCOTUS decision: "The United States acknowledges that Abrego Garcia was subject to a withholding order forbidding his removal to El Salvador, and that the removal to El Salvador was therefore illegal." (The reason we have due process.) www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

The Supreme Court on Thursday said the Trump administration must facilitate the release of a Maryland man mistakenly deported from custody in El Salvador, but ordered additional proceedings before a federal district court.

It's long past time to ban insider trading in Congress.

Exactly. What is the contract the US has with El Salvador? I think it would be damning if it were revealed.

Where is the “25th amendment small group PC” signal group?

In addition to the horror here ... "... an associate of ..." Watch how they're moving the circle out.
