A middle ground solution is to have a line of javascript that inserts your email into the page, i.e.
<script> a="user@"; b="domain.com"; document.write(a + b); </script>
This thwarts basic scrapers that only parse HTML and don't run JS. I've used this on my website for several years successfully.
