The concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy. When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, the American people don't have a voice. The result is demagoguery and corruption.

its amazing the way conservative arguments fall completely apart in court when there are actually penalties for lying

LITERALLY EVERY FBI DIRECTOR HAS BEEN A REPUBLICAN. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Donald Trump firing ~7000 IRS workers will mean three things: 1) More tax loopholes for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations 2) More debt, since IRS agents collect a lot more than they cost 3) Fewer ways to go after big tax cheats A great day to be a billionaire in America.

Democrats canā€™t sustain this kind of rhetoric without action. At the federal level they need to hold a 24-7 vigil at the Capitol until the coup ends. At the state level they could seize federal assets until court orders are being followed. Weā€™re already outside the regular constitutional order.

Wonder what Sen. Mike Lee and all the ā€˜constitutional conservativesā€™ and ā€˜limited governmentā€™ Republicans make of the GOP president calling himself a ā€œking.ā€ šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

"I will bring down inflation on day one." šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Update: inflation no longer the president's fault.

Could someone place an order for 100 more Jasmine Crocketts for overnight delivery to the Democratic Party thx in advance

Hundreds of political scientists sign letter "to express our urgent concern about threats to the basic design of American government and democracy" and ask administration to "reverse course" on actions that "can undermine democracies and destroy the rule of law." drive.google.com/file/d/1lGk2...

This is what our Transportation Secretary was doing yesterday as planes are crashing on a near-daily basis. I cannot remember a more dangerous time to fly and yet this reality TV actor-turned-Cabinet Secretary is busy watching cars drive laps at the Daytona 500.

yoinked this image from Twitter, then ordered my copy join me

"Aren't you the country where people hang plastic testicles on their cars?" Ok wise guy, and where do people in your country hang them?

once again, a "constitutional conservative" is without fail a bootlicker looking for a boot

Last night, I proposed a simple amendment to Republicansā€™ budget resolution: A 2 cent tax on every dollar of wealth over $50 million dollars for the richest 0.05% of American households. Spoiler alert: every single Republican voted NO on making the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share.

Trump ran on a pledge to "lower the cost of everything... eggs and everything." The cost of a dozen eggs are now at a record high.

the idea that these tech guys are opposed to "government waste" is so completely fucking ridiculous. they feast on government waste. DOD budgets are a bloated mess. the pentagon has failed 7 straight audits. the big beneficiaries are tech companies providing defense services.

Her letter is poignant, pointed, and utterly correct. And tonight on Fox News, it's going to be called a left-wing screed by a shrieking communist harpy who wants to undermine America by letting the terrorists across our open borders. And your dumbshit boomer uncle is gonna nod along.

Again, this idea has been floating out there for ages, and many other governments around the globe use the concept of shadow cabinets. Why haven't the Dems actually done this?

This is one reason we're mad at Democrats in Congress. They couldā€”as Republicans have done for decadesā€”gum up the works and make it harder to move the fascist agenda forward. Instead they agree to make it easy. With only a handful of exceptions, every Dem in Congress needs to go. Clean house.šŸ§¹

Whether it's Hillary Clinton sharing risotto tips on a private email server or Elon Musk giving full access to all government information to a nineteen-year old named Big Balls with ties to a child pornography collective known for its extortion techniques, both sides have played loose with security.

MAJOR BREAKING: Pope Francis has written a letter to US Bishops saying heā€™s following ā€œmajor crisisā€ of ā€œmass deportations;ā€ takes on Vance saying ā€œThe true ordo amoris that must be promoted is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable of the ā€œGood Samaritanā€

Egg prices are surging, gas prices are up, and planes are crashing on a near-daily basis. And this is what the White House is focused on.

Someone at the American Bar Association ate their Wheaties this morning.

JD Vance - If you believe any of the multiple federal courts that have ruled against you so far are exceeding their statutory or Constitutional authority, your recourse is to appeal. You donā€™t get to rage-quit the Republic just because you are losing. Thatā€™s tyranny.

So I'm a "serf" simply because I'm rooting for my own subjugation? Did you even consider that the lord says these changes will actually be good for me?

Nothing to worry about: the worldā€™s richest man, and donor to Donald Trump, is bragging about killing off the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The party of the little guy against the elites! Yeah!

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do. Slow things down, donā€™t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. Itā€™s starting to work.

He's not a "kid." He's an adult, with an important govt job. The posts weren't "stupid." They were hatefully racist. His life isn't "ruined." He lost a job. Holding a govt employee accountable is not a "reward" for a journalist. The reporter doesn't get a cookie.

This is actually exactly accurate:

Incredible to think how hard Merrick Garland worked for four years to avoid even the remotest appearance of partisanship or ideological commitments, and literally on her first day as AG Pam Bondi is like "Diversity is now illegal, we will be putting all the libs in prison"
