Yup. I’m in the architecture and construction industry. Everything is coming to a screeching halt because there’s so much uncertainty no one wants to building anything. Even if the economy stabilizes faith in it is a different story.

I really apprec. this convo btw, but are we pro people or pro anti-Trump? They aren’t the same. Piety has gotten us nowhere. We need severe uncivil disgust of the crap he peddles in the room as it happens otherwise it gets even more normalized. It’s dangerous. I fear it will turn into a Na*i rally

Dems being there or not shouldn’t be about how it makes Trump feel, it’s about how it makes Americans feel. Not being in the chamber signifies they’ve given up; abandoned the capitol. Who are they reaching with that message?

I really wish I believed a walk out would make a positive difference in the eyes of non-believers, but I don’t. One of the Dems’ biggest PR issues right now is passivity. This feeds right into that. And Republicans will looooove it.

I agree. Not showing up is like saying ‘you win, we’re out’. It’s passive and cowardly imho and that’s exactly the problem.

I disagree that he’s any better. Maybe even worse with this opposition vote routine. He votes nay because he can, they don’t need his vote. So now he’s trying to pretend like he’s principled. Just own it, buddy.
