When I installed Linux for the first time 20 years ago or signed up to Mastodon a few months ago it felt dull, not adventurous. And I didn't hit a wall, but a maze of things you are supposed to and know how to do. Yes, they are the "right" option, but don't expect people to go through that.

I signed up to Mastodon a few months ago and I couldn't figure out what you are supposed to do, how to find people or content. I gave up because well, I wasn't bothered enough to figure it out.
Felt similar to installing Linux.
