Yeah, though capitalism's only big weakness is that it's so dumb and profit driven it can be leveraged against itself, so using it's own motives to artificial induce approximately moral behavior is about as close as you can get to a W in our system.

Obama building some of the facilities Trump is using as concentration camps does not make them equally culpable and it certainly doesn't make them identical and it doesn't make Obama a fascist, these arguments are childish. Yes, Obama is terrible, not fascist though, not what the word means.
comment in response to

No, it's not, it's literally not what that word means, if you think the only differences between the two are "politeness levels" you're either a conservative troll or have completely lost the plot. Obama didn't try to overthrow the US government, pull your head out of your ass.

That's not what it means to be an outright fascist. We have an outright fascist in the whitehouse now so stopping using it to describe things that aren't actual fascism.

A lot of TTRPGs avoid using skill checks in that way for exactly the reasons you've laid out. But using random elements has a number of potential benefits depending on what your goals are, creating game elements, creating uncertainty in the narrative, or adding an element of realism.

Which is funny because it originally essentially meant "lonely manipulative dork"

Once the spectacle wears off it becomes more about the benefit it actually delivers to you.

There's this great anime, Shin Sekai Yori, that explores the idea of what it'd really be like if those kinds of destructive powers existed, and their answer is that society collapses and all solutions to the problem have horrible ethical problems and are unstable.

"Senator Kelly was right" is the real conversation no one is willing to have. If Magneto won I'd give it a few years before they realized they needed some kind of way to track and manage kids who can wipe out thousands of people by blinking.

finally answering the question, what would it look like if a boringer version of Max Headroom settled down into a job doing an NPR local radio show.

I've noticed a significant sudden shift in my field where new graduates know next to nothing. Using chat gpt for everything, can't complete basic tasks I'd expect of sophomore interns.

Breadtube has always had a hating women problem. Even on r/dropout, which is full of his fans, people overwhelmingly love the video.

How high were you all during this? I know you are all huge fans of each other but I don't know if I've ever seen you all so giggly, or was this all just redbull?

I'll also point out that Dropout is only $7 a month and is imo the best streaming platform out there, and besides the D&D stuff you pointed out also has "Um, Actually" hosted by @ifycomedy.com. Generally just a great way to support creators getting off of awful platforms like YouTube.

this reinforces my notion that there is a huge opportunity for someone to make an MMO that is more of a hang out platform first and a level grind second, instead of the other way around. Really make interacting with other people front and center.

I think I have to add that to my handful of comedy specials I consider a "must watch", like I don't care who you are, you need to watch it. First 2/3rds is good but that end is just singular, and unfortunately insightful.
