I’m at a media festival in Rio, & just swapped numbers with a colleague. @solonneto.bsky.social spotted my lock screen and said “you must be heartbroken…” I actually am. I don’t often talk about football on here, but for once, I think it’s relevant. A mini-thread on #THFC, FWIW.

Wondering how I did it? I boiled water and added two tablespoons of vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice. I soaked it for 20 minutes, and after that, it looked the same, so I bought a brand new one.

My son had a play date today. Walked into their house and immediately saw the meat slicer. They’re from Norcia in Italy. The family are experts at curing meat. Half of the meat in this photo he cured himself in his garage two years ago. It was the best play date ever. Thank you Manuel!

Are Spurs actually questioning whether Ange will stay? I know the media (and fans) are. The only content I’ve seen from Spurs are players, coaches and even Levy, backing him or saying thank you. A manager midway through a 4 year contract. Who’s delivered 2 of 3 huge objectives. Why comment?

Looking back at the season, it seems the most obvious decision possible. A route to a trophy and champs league, and all in 15 games. Get past Roma, Rangers, Galatasaray, Az Alkmaar, United etc… Or 38 game slog. Or trophies and no champs league (which I’d have taken). Obvious in hindsight.

I got off the train, turned the corner, saw the crowds, the stadium, the families, the smoke, the singing. People on roofs, hanging off of lampposts and traffic lights. Took a breath and burst into tears. Beautiful. #COYS
