Or you might just end up with strong opinions about tabs vs spaces. It's a mixed bag.

I never know what to think about a grifter targeting hate groups. It's like I want to sit down for a good story but, "Oops, all antagonists!"

Don't forget that hiring is absurdly random. I have always been turned down for many, many jobs where I felt overqualified before eventually accepting offers where I sensed more challenge.
I know the market is much, much harder than it was a few years ago. I wish you good luck.

Yeah, there's nuance. But I'd still argue any face time with prospective employers is better spent than, "come back after you've spent 8 hours on this."

Pro Tip: Don't do take-home assignments.
I consider it a big red flag when employers aren't willing to invest and engage in their own hiring process. It's a huge time drain for the candidate that costs the employer almost nothing. It's asymmetric warfare. Just say no. My two cents.

If that person is really an AI founder, they're probably dogfooding the race to the bottom.

Yes, there should be limits to empathy driving business decisions. But if you honestly think empathy between human beings in a workplace is a bad thing...we are built different.

Two years ago, they didn't have $1T in market cap to lose.
No idea where it's going next, but I have a feeling it's going to be a WILD ride.

I eventually got @cilium.io L2 Announcements working (docs.cilium.io/en/latest/ne...).
I had to tweak my Talos network settings to manually configure my addresses and routes. 🤷
I think I'm going to like Talos. Declarative config with a git history is amazing for tinkering.

Today, I started testing out Simkl as a replacement for Trakt. Too soon to say if I'll switch over completely, but if I'm paying either of them a month from now, it won't be @trakt.tv.

There are plenty more examples. I'm not opposed to paying for things I use, but trying to suck $10/month out of my wallet for something I value at $10/year is just not going to happen.

On My Nice List:
+ Monarch Money (A little expensive at $99/year, but it works well and pricing is transparent)
On My Naughty List:
- Strava (New policy hurts existing customers www.theverge.com/2024/11/19/2...)

They are certainly in good company, though. It seems like every little app is trying to charge $5-20/month these days.
On My Nice List:
+ Bitwarden ($10 per YEAR for "premium" features)
On My Naughty List:
- Solid Starts: Baby Food App ($20/month to tell me what foods are safe for my baby)

10 years ago is a long time. Obama was president and the only car Tesla was making was the Model S. What did you know then?

The main issues for me are that they don't work consistently across devices, and the UI is bad...often doesn't differentiate between a passkey, a security key, and other 2FA-type options. And they haven't actually replaced any passwords for me.
But I still like the idea and hope the tech improves.

Yup. Everything was super smooth until I tried to install Traefik. The service for Traefik tries to listen on :80 and :443, but gets stuck in pending. Tried with MetalLB and Cilium. Same results either way.

Or you could simply travel back in time to the early or late 90s, when the Blazers were good.

What reason does anyone have to believe that more serious questions have any real impact, though? As far as I can tell, Gaetz wasn't driven out of the running for AG primarily because of his inability to thoughtfully answer serious questions.

I actually implemented that feature. If that wasn't intentional on your part, I'm impressed.
They scale to zero to conserve resources for customers who are not using them. They work with our Rules CRDs, but you can add a no-op rule to "manually" enable them.

I'd say it's not possible to avoid bias when reporting on these cases. Just publishing/amplifying the allegations implies some level of credibility which may not be intended by the author, but is perceived by the reader. Explicitly undermining that credibility isn't better.

Agreed. My theory is this kind of headline is motivated by some sort of perverse version of the sentiment, "innocent until proven guilty."
And that's why they're centering the accused and implying presumptive innocence.

I don't know you, but I assume I could be counted among "people."
I think there are very few people who don't sometimes stutter, lose their train of thought, or think they aren't very smart. I see "successful" people on TV do these things frequently.
I'm not judging, based on that.
