Totally agree! I’m I disappointed Demi didn’t win? Absolutely! But Mikey Madison is great in Anora and trashing her won’t change anything

I mean when you have Wicked around can any of the original songs really compete? Especially after Erivo singing defying gravity?

Yeah I thought there were stronger potential nominees out there. Nickel Boys for sure! It was so inventive and felt so different from what we typically see. And agreed would love to hear more about the nominees. I love cinematography but admittedly don’t know a ton about the technicalities of it

I’m betting he gets a nom for part 2 and if he wins it’ll really be a win for both

Truly wild Nickel Boys didn’t even get nominated for it

Nice! Both are definitely top half of this years nominees for me so could definitely be worse

The Brutalist: I loved the look of the film and there were a few cool sequences. While I appreciated the intermission, the film did not need to be as long as it was. The pace was glacial. I also think it tried to do too much which hurt it a bit thematically. #filmsky #TheBrutalist

I’m very curious how I’ll feel about it. On the surface doesn’t seem like my jam, but I’ve heard some positive things and that there’s more to it than the trailer might indicate

Personally Rocky is my pick, but what a stacked year for Best Picture noms. One of the strongest.

Same!! I’m usually not a horror person and body horror and gore can really get me, but I’m so glad I stuck it out because the film was so much more than that. That sound design *shiver*. And yeah Qualley’s lack on at least supporting mom is surprising given her performance.

Agreed. Like I won’t be mad if it wins Best Picture, but it’s not my top pick

The sound design makes such a difference on this one!

Good to hear! That makes me even more excited for the rest of today’s program

It’s a cute film, especially if you’re also a fan of You’ve Got Mail

It’s definitely a Christmas classic for us! We usually do an It’s A Wonderful Life & Die Hard double feature around the holidays

Oh my god I totally forgot that When Harry Met Sally was a Riener film
