If I make these, the goal is to sell at cost, with a suggested donation on the part of the purchaser of the difference between cost & retail, to a charity.

I am a bit apprehensive about the show for this reason and because I love the books so much, but of course I am still going to watch it

What I think is so interesting about the audiobooks, which I have not listened to as I am bad at audiobook, is that the narrator has a perceived voice gender! I can usually tell who's done audio by what pronouns they use for Murderbot!

On the docket are green onions, sweet onions, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and the long shot is a watermelon that apparently grows to maturity with some success in NW WA. I believe this of the watermelon, but I do not have faith in my ability to grow it to maturity.

And they only acknowledged her when they sued a competitor who had a knock-off with the original intent ("Anti-Monpoly") who defended himself by pointing to Magie.

And it was for a pittance, considering the money they were raking in!

It's wild to me that a game designed by a woman to be an unpleasant-to-play critique of monopolies and was then stolen by a man and sold as a fun game, is still so popular.

Given that you've also not rated 1-2, your scale just runs from 3-8!

Same, same. I'll be okay, but I am so sad to see pals who have had to leave illustration.

A very few do, but it's super uncommon. I am sus about games that don't list any artist.

So a human artist is a lesser tool? Okay. I'm out.

It's clear that you really want using AI to be okay. It's not okay with me, but of course you should do what you want. I just think the shock over public response is a bit... disingenuous.

We certainly shouldn't use tools that bring the worst of our past forward. Asking if we should bury our history in response to a tool being trained on racist data is a wild take.

Clearly you're not interested in hearing the theft thing, so let's move on. It's also racist, misogynistic, and deeply troubling in other ways because it is trained on a dataset of humanity's past, which is... not great.

No, because humans don't exactly reproduce portions of other people's work and sell it as their own. They may do studies, but anything else would be copyright infringement.

It's an environmentally destructive tool built on uncompensated, stolen work. While humans get inspiration from everywhere, if they copied as closely as AI, they would face lawsuits. That argument is simplistic at best.

GAMA Expo should be an event all industry folks feel like they can attend safely regardless of gender or race.
Human rights protections are just as important in selecting a city as a good venue and airport.
