Born June 1968. Right at that dividing line. Got my titrates checked yesterday and today I got the results: “Patient is presumed to be immune” to MMR and chicken pox. I take a medicine that causes me to be immunocompromised - big relief.

Stan Freburg Presents the United States of America was a staple in our house for years. Played it every July 4. Grew up listening to Smothers Brothers, Tom Lehrer, all on my parents’s massive piece of furniture that housed the record player and storage. Miss those days.

When I first saw it, I thought it said "Book protector," as in one who protects your books. Which, you know, if someone borrowed a book from you and never returned it...

Literally just finished watching it. Should I watch Annihilation?

I’ve read a few of these. Hard to get through, but necessary. I would also recommend @swordsjew.bsky.social Talia Levin’s book Wild Faith. Fits right in here and takes you beyond where most of these go.

I was also surpised at how rewatchable they are. And it seems like Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg are enjoying the hell out of it.

Right? That totally seems like something a stager would do.

If not friend, then why friend-shape - never mind.
