The only book I can think of that fits this is The Cat Who Came For Christmas by Cleveland Armory... but I barely remember it. Movies: I always love a Doctor Who Christmas special.

I think this was the first book I read by myself. It was definitely one of the Frog and Toad books. Is that a neurodivergent thing, not being able to read and then suddenly reading everything?

The Black Tides of Heaven and The Red Threads of Fortune by Neon Yang! Fantasy where no one has a gender until 16ish.

Nice to see your voice here, George!

Really though, isn't it the (even more privileged) other members of congress who should be fighting to protect their freshman colleague? The going back on support for trans rights based on election losses makes me extremely sick. And I don't think it will work. Do better, Dems.

I enjoyed reading this multiple times in my pre-undergraduate days but it has been sullied by stories about the author's bad behavior. I have a hard time dealing with my positive memories of discussing with a best friend and what I know now.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin meets this for me. Also Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune.

There's another one?! I recommend Love After the End to basically anyone who will listen. Thanks, #booksky!

The Crazy Rich Asians series is dramatic with romance.

It's so good! Lots of world building though. I usually read multiple books at once but only one with a bunch of new world building to get a hold on.

Oops that was 2/20!

Not yet, I am mostly wondering how I can choose between the amazing things I read in the last few years and all of the stuff I read voraciously as a kid before I had more context about the world! But you know, books were an escape for me.

Ah, so nice to see you on here! I was just thinking about your book Internment and what an impression it had on me. 💙📚 I didn't know you also did Ms. Marvel?!

I really loved this book too. I had a very dog-eared copy when I was writing everyday.

I am just finishing The Poppy War trilogy (?) so definitely need to add another RF Kuang to my list too.

Oh and my partner has been introducing me to Discworld through all the tv/movies so I'd like to restart that one -- I think I may have read a book or two as a child but didn't quite understand the social critique.

Have read: Iron Widow and the Fifth Season, Legendborn and Babel are on my TBR -- but my Libby hold list is constantly growing so who knows when I will get to it.

Several on my TBR and the ones I've read are great. Good list!
