In 1993 Garth agreed to play the Super Bowl, but he asked in the NFL agreed to play this music video. Then they tried to back out and he walked out of the stadium. He did not come back until they played the video.
Marlee Matlin, who is in the video translated the National Anthem for him.

He did return once the video played, but the game was delayed. The NFL now requires all performers to submit a prerecorded video for the National Anthem.
It just shows how powerful the arts are and what powerful Allie's artists can be when they put their mind to it.
