My latest story explores Nevada legislation #AB168. This bill addresses the danger of intersection for cyclsits. If it passes, stop signs will become yield signs for cyclists in Nevadans. ⏬ Read more ⏬ sierranevadaally.org/2025/02/14/c... #JustRideABike #storytelling #safetystop #bikesky

The relative advantages of riding a relatively slow (i.e. compared to a road bike) classic upright bike increase each year we get a bit older. If your top concern is safety, this is the best bicycle choice. @mattmeyerde.bsky.social @bikeleague.bsky.social

The crazier the world gets, the more we need each other. Hold on tight to the people you love. Happy #ValentinesDay 💝 to all who celebrate.

This is masculine maximalism to me

When a city forces bars to build parking spaces but tells people not to drink and drive, it’s a bit like if a school handed out candy while teaching kids about healthy eating 🤡

Thanks to some diligent work from folks at New Castle County and DeDOT yesterday, both the Markell Trail and the Lewes-Georgetown Trail are cleared of snow and are ready for anyone who needs to use them to get to work today (or just wants to get out and ride).

An entire city (and country) on two wheels:

A lot more of our friends would do this with us if our buses were better. (Just sayin'.)

Welcome to Delaware!

When it comes to transportation, we are pro choice.

Rest in peace, Professor Shoup (1938-2025) We will keep up the good work. Share your stories and thoughts with the parking reform community here: parkingreform.org/donald-shoup

SEPTA train between Philadelphia and Wilmington caught fire yesterday. No one was hurt.

Stroads kill. #StroadKill

years in the making, we believe the Everyone Gets Home Act will help solve Delaware’s deepening road safety crisis (the state tied its all-time record for traffic fatalities in 2022) #NoStroad

If you replace government "employees" with government *contractors* doing the same work, it's far FAR more expensive.

Happy Groundhog Day to all who celebrate.

Faster buses are good.

One of America's most stunning urban greenways.

There's a common fear that with density comes increased "traffic", but what many don't understand is that with proper mixed-use density and safe street design, the "traffic" redefines itself.

We appreciate yesterday's recognition of the City of New Castle as a Bicycle Friendly Community by @bikeleague.bsky.social. New Castle has one of the three best networks of bike paths in Delaware (rivaled only by Lewes and Newark ), the result of decades of hard work by many people.

From the separated bike lane, to one of 10,000 secure parking spaces, to one of 28 hourly trains leaving Delft Station. Six years of car-free living in a small city of 100,000 is made possible by seamless connectivity; allowing our family to fully participate in society without sacrificing a thing.

US DOT has renamed the competitive RAISE program back to BUILD & changed merit criteria for winning projects to: —Eliminate goal of increasing walking, biking for public health —Eliminate goal of engaging with unions —Eliminate goal of electrification www.transportation.gov/RAISEgrants/...

I took a ride on Elon Musk's "Vegas Loop." The experience did not change my mind ... humantransit.org/2025/01/las-...

Indianapolis proves that if people care about their transit system, and are willing to give its issues some thought, it gets better!

This problem extends far beyond Minnesota. Across the country, state DOT models ignore induced demand in their highway widening proposals. It's debatable whether they're being deceitful or just ignorant. Either way, their models are wrong.

Governor @mattmeyerde.bsky.social correctly identifies fighting "sprawl code" is one of the most important things we can do to lower the cost of housing in Delaware.
