1981. Wipers - Youth of America Siouxsie & the Banshees - Juju Hall & Oates - Private Eyes Journey - Escape Rush - Moving Pictures Foreigner - 4 Loverboy - Get Lucky Rick Springfield - Working Class Dog Whew. S&B was tops, loved that album. I think this was the year I 'discovered' music, classics!

I'm sure the league will issue a very strong statement about how furrowed their brow is at those fans.

1980. The Jam - Sound Affects Joy Division - Closer X - Los Angeles The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms Diana Ross - Diana George Jones - I am what I Am Wish TJ would have been bigger here. Two years of JD wasn't enough. DR and GJ to break the post punk spell. And Exene's lilting minor tone I love.

1979. Donna Summer, Bad Girls Joy Division, Unknown Pleasures The Slits, Cut Supertramp, Breakfast in America AC/DC, Highway to He'll Tom Petty, Damn the Torpedoes Quite the mix. Highlight was Joy Division, which I never really got into while loving 00s bands who sound like them. DS, HOT STUFF!

1978. Kate Bush - The Kick Inside Elvis Costello - This Year's Model Rolling Stones - Some Girls The Cars Captain Beefheart - Shiny Beast Yellow Magic Orchestra I can't quite with KB voice. Cars debut is a hit factory. Earworms for days. SG the song is gross. YMO is proto techno. Beefheart = cool.

1977. Steely Dan - Aja Television - Marquee Moon Bob Marley - Exodus Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express Billy Joel - The Stranger Styx - The Grand Illusion Never been into reggae, but loved Exodus. Jamming. Joel & Styx deserve classic status. KW, nah. Marquee Moon hook is the best. And I do like Peg.

Did not love Hiebert as a wingback. Also our mids were too porous. Liked Wallem, and Nilsson looked good.

1976. David Bowie - Station to Station Ramones - same ABBA - Arrival Boston - same The Modern Lovers - same ABBA and Boston at opposite ends of 'hit' music, but both lovable. Admire Bowie, but don't connect. Ramones so good. TML, Richman first work, very VU and Doors. Liked it. He apparently didnt.

1975. Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run Parliament - Mothership Connection Patti Smith - Horses Brian Eno - Another Green World Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Eno bit too esoteric for easy listening. BtR is good, not consistent. Horses a classic, but needs listens. Tear the Roof off, mothersucker!

1974. Neil Young - On the Beach Joni Mitchell - Court and Spark King Crimson - Red Bad Company - same Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel The Meters - Rejuvenation The Meters were cool. Hated CaS. King Crimson music nerds love, but I didn't. OtB I liked. Parsons always a favorite, esp $1000 Wedding.

1973. Stevie Wonder - Innervisions Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road New York Dolls - same Wings - Band on the Run Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon First time to NYD, loved it (Trash highlight). GYBR tons of hits, but peters out. BOTR also has some stinkers. Stevie slaps.

Episode 7 is definitely my favorite episode of tv this year. From the wonderful 'day out on San Fran' to the hilarious 'battle of wits' going on at the residence, fantastic stuf.
