Draft EIS for ProjectConnect is out tomorrow and I'm really struggling to muster enthusiasm. The state of transit in the US is pure despair. Ridership still below pre-pandemic numbers. Service quality declining. Cost disease & public disorder getting worse.

Wishlist for Texas statewide changes that are ~mostly compatible with state R's libertarian bent. What else? To keep the growth machine going we need abundance in: -Higher ed and R&D -Housing -Water -Energy -Healthcare (mostly labor side)

How many US cities are: -Fast growing -Comparatively good on housing & moving in a better direction -Don't have a freeway loop around downtown limiting CBD expansion I can only think of Austin and Raleigh. What other cities?

Now that Austin YIMBYs have a 10-1 supermajority, here's my wishlist for 2025-26 Austin council session. I don't realistically expect all these items to get completed in 2 years but with a 10-1 margin a lot can get done. Austin urbanists: what is your wishlist?
