I always feel the need as a vegetarian to put out a caveat 😂

Yeah I mean don’t go in expecting that it’s going to taste exactly the same; it’s obviously not going to. But it’s a hearty, protein-rich breakfast that you can season as you see fit.

We do this all the time! It’s great in cornbread especially. I know lots of folks hate tofu but you can achieve something similar to scrambled eggs by crushing a block of tofu with your fingers and adding turmeric and whatever seasonings you want. I’ve even made frittatas this way.

Zelensky knows that Trump needs this as much, if not more, than Ukraine does. Trump has to please his master, and he failed yesterday. So now he’ll be forced to come back to the table again but this time Zelensky has a stronger position.

The media is saying that Zelensky lacked self-control here, but it was actually Trump who lacked self-control. Trump and Vance killed this deal with their self-indulgent “kiss the ring” media circus. They showed themselves incapable of what should’ve been a slam dunk for them.

Sure, the war is now still going. Things are still desperate for them. I’m not sugarcoating it. But Trump lost yesterday, because he *didn’t* broker an international peace agreement. The treaty was basically in the bag, and because he couldn’t help himself, he killed a deal that should’ve been easy.

The media was quick to blame Zelensky for the failed deal; he could’ve just swallowed his pride, endured the shaming, and signed the thing. But this is where Zelensky showed himself to have the kind of backbone that our politicians lack: he called Trump’s bluff and walked.

Trump is pretty obviously in Putin’s pocket, and it’s likely that he would get financial kickbacks for getting Zelensky to sign that paper. It would also be a great deal of international prestige for ending a long and bloody war.

Trump was so confident he had Zelensky over a barrel that he could publicly humiliate him in front of cameras before making him kiss the ring. This is his MO; this is what he has made every American politician do who sides with him. There was no other reason to televise the signing.

Trump made a campaign promise to end the war on day one of his presidency. He obviously hasn’t done that, but if he had gotten Zelensky to sign that paper yesterday then it would have been an enormous victory for him, personally. It would have shown him to be as powerful as he projects.

The peace agreement was objectively bad for Ukraine; the only thing they were getting out of it was (maybe) the end of Russian aggression, but they *weren’t* going to get NATO membership, they weren’t getting their territories back, and they’d have to pay dearly in minerals for that.

One reason why I think respectability is stupid is because it's often used as a mask. Such judgements are rarely about the clothes themselves, but more often about the bodies beneath them. To wit, no one raised an issue when Elon wore a graphic t-shirt and ball cap to meet the Trump cabinet.

History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for.

Yeah same. It’s a shame that the whole pre-trib premillennialism thing is something I left behind, because now would be my time to ✨ shine ✨

Right yeah, I didn’t mean to diminish what he did. Just trying to say that the complaint itself is weird

When folks derided Biden (“What did he actually accomplish?”) the thought that came to mind was, “Well, he fought inflation and let the nation heal from Trump, isn’t that good enough?”
comment in response to post
I mean this was kind of the upside of the Biden administration lol
