Yeah and second place with 20.7% of the vote is AfD… basically neo-Nazis. So unless AfD was projected to better than this, I’m not entirely sure this is great or not.

Who cares! Lisa and Susan are the epitome of all bark and no bite! They pretend like they care and then they fall right in line with the rest of the MAGA Congresspeople.

Sadly we’re not getting any of it! Best they can do is give tax breaks to the rich and balloon the debt by a few trillion.

He wants to be cool and funny so bad! He grew up thinking if he got money and power people would see just how cool and funny he really is… and instead it’s only cemented how cringy he is.

That’s why I suggest we rename these “primary sources” that without a doubt aren’t even close to a primary source and call them a tertiary source (ideally we would call them secondary source and the secondary source would move to tertiary, but just to make it easier on the transition.)

That would be like you writing a book on Issac Newton now and it being called a primary source. And Plutarch isn’t the only “primary source” that is referred to as one. And I understand these ancient histories that we know so little about we will almost accept anything that is even remotely close

Important note to add! The “page does not include any evidence of fraud, waste or abuse in contracts, but does highlight ideological differences between the Trump administration and the previous priorities of former President Joe Biden.”

The archaic period? If so, if Homer was making a film, his film would be set in the Bronze Age, with that armor, but of course reflect the values & worries of his day. This adaptation regardless of armor will reflect us today either way. I don’t have a horse in this race, just thought I would add.

As a film major, one of the things you learn about, is say there is an 80’s film made about the 20’s. The film reflects values and ideas about the 80’s much more than those of the 20’s. Now you can correct me on this, but is the Odyssey not set in the Bronze Age, but believed to be written in

What annoys me is most politicians have this kind of video, it’s usually once in a blue moon though. With Trump it’s every other day we get this kind of before and after video and he just shakes it off like nothing and his supporters, buy the before and then defend the after. It’s infuriating!

As an American… I loved it! It was my favorite new show of last year. And frankly I’m glad people are finally taking more notice to Hiroyuki Sanada! I’ve been saying for decades now, the dude can act and needs to be featured more!

A red herring with an ad hominem. I asked what the Dems are supposed to do right now with their limited power. You said reject fascism. I reminded you, during the election they did that, and they are doing it now. I voted for them and ask again what are they supposed to do right now, realistically!

Absolutely & I understand how our government works & the history of it. You said Dems act like the GOP, when the Dems were in a sort of similar position to the GOP now, the GOP didn’t stop the Dems. Now the GOP are in power, & Donald is side stepping them anyways… Dems can’t do anything more!
comment in response to

They preached how dangerous Trump was in the run of to the election, they are preaching what he is doing now is just like a dictator. All your responses are the same! You give no substance to what they should do, other than be like the GOP which that can’t & reject fascism, which they are.

Despite your facetiousness, they helped 25 million more people insured, meaning less likely to go bankrupt from of medical bills. No longer be denied for pre-existing conditions. Investments in clean energy. The rare times they had control of Congress & the presidency, the GOP did not block them.

The GOP have controlled the Supreme Court since the 70’s. In the last 25 years, only twice, 4 years total, have the GOP not held one of the chambers of congress or presidency. In those years the Dems got a lot done. Most importantly the GOP held up Congress, this president is side stepping Congress.

Okay… that’s a Red herring. We’re talking about what the democrats are supposed to do now. With their very limited power, and Donald potentially side-stepping the constitution.
comment in response to

Absolutely, but that came mostly from outside the politicians. And regardless how energetic they were, those two years the Dems had? They passed a lot of bills, even with the GOP trying to filibuster everything.

You’re obviously missing the point that the dems typically tried to work within the system. Trump is not, and the GOP Congress is letting Trump sidestep them. How are they supposed to stop gears in Congress when no gears are moving, and the majority in Congress will keep it that way?
comment in response to

In that 25 year span, the democrats have never controlled the Supreme Court. Also only twice did the Dems control both chambers of Congress and the presidency, a total of 4 years. They were very productive. ACA, Infrastructure Investment & Jobs act, Inflation Reduction, etc. So not the same here.

I sort of feel like they are doing what little they can, bring light to issues and calling a spade a spade. It’s Donald who is overreaching, and the GOP have said he is, and they don’t care. Our only hope is the courts review it and strike anything down. And then hopefully executive branch listens.
comment in response to
post
I’m confused what the Democratic Party is supposed to do? They don’t control the courts & they don’t control Congress (other than filibuster in the senate), they could bring a bill forward only for it to get ignored in the committees, I see them speaking out Senator Schiff called Donald a dictator.

A dumb president, who listens to a rich ceo who likes dealing in space. An asteroid heading towards us… they should really make a movie about this. I know the perfect director, Adam McKay! It’s gonna need a little star power because it sounds unbelievable, so maybe put Leonardo DiCaprio as the lead.

Justice for Pluto! Kick out Jupiter you coward! Stop the double standards! Pluto was demoted for not clearing out its orbit, while Jupiter sits there with Trojan’s and Greek’s in its orbit.

I’ll get flack for this, but the British monarchy is actually a huge benefit to the country. The country makes £240 billion in tourism, & who is spending most of that? The Yanks. Why? A large reason is they are enamoured with the monarchy! Can’t get enough. Those castles & guards mean something.

I for the life of me can’t figure out what happened to her? Money? Fame? She was the vice-chair of the DNC, stepped down because of how the DNC was helping HRC, as well as wanted to endorse Bernie Sanders. Was in the same vain as him, democratic socialist. 8 years later she sold her soul. Why?
