We don’t talk enough about how mind-numbingly stupid Donald Trump is.

If California does not make the courts aware that this fucking moron wants to “liberate” Los Angeles, all of its lawyers should resign.
comment in response to post
I know you did, but just in case you didn’t. The blithering idiot who’s cosplaying as the DHS Secretary said today that they were going to “liberate” Los Angeles. Sounds like she should be a witness for you in your lawsuit.
comment in response to post
You need more than “answers.” Noem also said that she was going to “liberate” Los Angeles. This is what happens when Dems treat these fascist pieces of shit as if they are normal politicians. Stop the politics as usual and start making “good trouble” before it’s too late.

The sociopathic, racist piece of shit in the White House, who said LA was going to be destroyed, is the one gaslighting America. Mina lives in LA and has accurately described what’s going on in most of the city. Couldn’t care less whether you are “tired” of that or not.

If I didn’t enjoy retirement so much, I’d be envious of the defense lawyers-a botched case against the mayor, weeks to get an indictment, dumb as rocks Trump admin officials who have lied repeatedly about this specific case, and numerous witnesses who will dispute any bs story ICE invents.😂

Sure are. Lots of folks there working hard to be fascists’ favorite news outlet because that always works out well.

You are not doing your jobs when you allow DOGE/Trump to loudly boast about "savings" and then, weeks later, publish an article about backtracking. How did this happen? Who thought this was a good idea? Why isn't this evidence that this administration doesn't know what the fuck they're doing?
comment in response to post
I am not sure it's even a bar, at this point. I think higherups are ordering prosecutors to bring some of these cases, file pleadings, etc. which is why we are also seeing so many resignations (NY, DC, TN, etc.).

They fought to preserve our fundamental constitutional rights including due process and free speech. As a Californian and an American, I take great pleasure in exercising my right to tell you to go fuck yourself. I regret every dollar I have ever donated to you. A mistake I will never make again.

L.A.'s population is about the same size as the entire US military and every sworn law enforcement officer. What's Trump going to do when SF, NYC, Atlanta, Houston, Philly, Chicago, DC, Boston, Detroit, etc. all tell him to fuck off? The only way martial law works is if the rest of us accept it.

I was a federal prosecutor for a number of years. Loved the job. Was proud to say “for the United States” more times than I can count. But I would have walked away from that job in a heartbeat if anyone had asked me to sign on to the unadulterated bullshit that Pam Bondi and her goons are filing.
comment in response to post
Count this as the 4th or 5th time that ICE has fucked up and DOJ has filed a bullshit criminal case to cover it up. Every prosecutor who participates in this scheme should lose his/her license to practice law.

Those folks have a right to go wherever they want. I chose to go here though because there are far more racists, Nazis, misogynists, and hate-filled pieces of shit on X. I'm neither obligated nor interested in engaging with them or even seeing the dumb crap they post. Not sure why that's a problem.

Give me a fucking break. Not even the Trump WH is stupid enough to believe ICE could send heavily armed thugs into LA to make Gestapo-like arrests without incident. This was a deliberate provocation. They wanted fear/silence or protests/violence. Spare us the gaslighting bullshit.
comment in response to post
Or those of us who know better could explain the cultural/historical significance of the Mexican flag in L.A., focus on what the protests are about, point out that Americans waiving Ukrainian flags are not Ukrainian agents, and politely tell those peddling racist bs to go fuck themselves.

If you occupy a leadership position, spend weeks whining, have “self-doubts” and allow someone else to “ruin” the position for you, you never should have taken that position in the first place. If the whiners think DH is tough, wait until they’re face to face with actual fascists.

The publication run by a self-interested oligarch, who dictates what opinions can and can’t be expressed, says what now? What you call a lack of diversity, I call freedom from racist, sexist, homophobic assholes, and I am fine with it. I am not interested in debating fascism with actual fascists.
comment in response to post
If the Founders knew that the media would one day be controlled by self-interested oligarchs and a bunch of fucking cowards, the 1st Amendment would be worded very differently.

There is a direct correlation between the rise of fascism and the dumbing down of the GOP. There was a time when dumbest person in Congress was 1 or 2 person race. There are now dozens of GOP congresspeople and senators who compete for that title. The GOP is now a party that believes this bullshit.

This is America and peaceful protesters can wave whatever flags they want. (I’ve seen Mexican flags at soccer matches in L.A. ffs.) If you are focused on the flag and not the thuggish, lawless behavior of ICE, you’re missing the point.

It is frankly offensive that you’re broadcasting a Broadway show about courage and journalistic integrity, while showing us repeatedly for years that you have neither irl. This feels like a fake ad from The Onion.

The Gestapo, I am told, was made up entirely of real people. When ICE starts treating immigrants like real people and stops violating the Constitution, we can talk. Until then, fuck this guy and fuck ICE. “Fascists are people too” is not a compelling argument.

Many of the referees in this league are a disgrace. Parents with kids in AYSO would have called a better game tonight. I have been a fan of this league since day one, but I am really getting tired of this crap.
comment in response to post
It’s not violence from protesters you need to worry about. It’s the violence committed by a bunch of masked, fascist thugs with badges you and the rest of us should be condemning. ICE is the fucking problem. If you don’t see that, you don’t deserve to be President.

I was a federal prosecutor for a long time. This indictment is full of the kind of weasel words the government uses when the evidence is thin. Add to that the fact that a longtime AUSA resigned leaving a very pointed message clearly referencing this case. This could be a train wreck.

And for those who can’t read, they can just watch Andor season 2 on Disney+ in its entirety.

This is what happens when a country with some of the smartest people in the world allows itself to be governed by some of the dumbest and most incompetent government officials in its history.

Aaron Rodgers is never in a "good state of mind." He's a blithering idiot who thinks he's a genius. I know we're all suppose to ignore the fact that he's a tinfoil hat wearing asshole because he can play football. Many of us don't.
comment in response to post
A good defense lawyer is going to have a field day. Multiple prejudicial statements by Trump, Noem, Bondi, etc. An AUSA has resigned. And the indictment is full of vague, weasel words. Unless DOJ has found a right wing judge who doesn’t care about being reversed, the defense is going to do damage.

The draft dodging, cowardly piece of shit says what now?

The media needs to start connecting the dots. This is at least the 3rd or 4th time that ICE has royally fucked up and DOJ has filed criminal charges to divert attention. That includes indicting a member of Congress after wrongfully arresting a mayor. This is fascist bullshit that deserves attention.
comment in response to post
Rodgers' "best spot" is lying on his couch with his laptop watching Alex Jones reruns.

I don't buy it. These are the racist, incompetent dipshits who charged a sitting member of Congress with assault because they had to dismiss the idiotic charges they brought against the Mayor of Newark. Until Bondi and Noem start producing actual evidence in court, they can both fuck off.
comment in response to post
after wrongfully arresting the Mayor of Newark, and now they've charged Abrego Garcia with what I am sure is a compelling criminal case they neglected to bring in the years that preceded his illegal deportation. The prosecutors handling these cases are ultimately going to need their own lawyers.
