Weāre not complaining about the article, weāre complaining about the post promoting putting both miasma theory and germ theory in quotes, suggesting that they are both equally dodgy.

If 95% of their audience failed to see the satire in those examples, then yes. Satire is a genuinely difficult thing to do!

one may or may not like what comes after america but itās damn sure to involve a lot of politics still.

Thanks! It will go well with another favorite of mine: āyou arenāt going to like this, but the fix is electing *more* Democrats.ā

Turns out you DO need a broad popular front to get things done! Who woulda thunk it.

And yet when you ask how many Communist Senators the left has gotten elected, the deflections are relentless

Even without punching, thereās often no attempt to find common ground: e.g., I told a leftist I was arguing with that I did agree with their post that āprotest is a practiceā and was told I did not!

Exactly! If something is meant as satire, and a whole lot of people donāt view it as satire, then the creator has failed in conveying their meaning. Why the failure occurred might be interesting in a āsatire died when Kissinger won the Nobel Peace Prizeā way, but itās still a failure.

Agree that there has been a lack of effective opposition from the Dem leadership in particular. The voting for Trump nominees is one thing (Trump still got the most horrible people confirmed even when all Dems opposed them), but giving up the govt shutdown leverage is sheer political malpractice.

This one then celebrates both the agreement and the rare internet civility!

I will also concede that āshut the fuck upā was unnecessarily hostile. My explanation (not an excuse) is years of experience listening to online leftists tear down Dem candidates in general elections, particularly amplified when the Dem candidate is a woman.

Shall we both we agree to use āoneā instead? You can say āone needs to primary Dems who suck verilyā and I can reply āindeed! however then one needs to be a bulwark for the victor, yea, even if that Dem sucketh the mostā

I mean, you specifically also used āyouā to reply to me without knowing my views on the value of primarying ineffective Dems and electing the most progressive Dems possible

Fair enough, though āyouā as a designation for a member of a group in discussion (in this case, people who sneer at liberals) is a common shorthand.
Also, the OP didnāt ask why people hate on Dems, he suggested that those whose sneer at liberals reflect why they sound like Limbaugh.
