Yea man, I'm well aware, I've played DnD since I was ~12. However, explaining a concept in 300 characters doesn't facilitate providing an entire oral history of the term. The pop-culture use is heavily adapted from video games and it very much means an inability to form individual opinions/thoughts.

Non-playable character. It's a term in video games for characters that are not controlled by the player. It's been co-opted as an insult to basically the target can't think or form their own opinions

Also I swear I'll go back to plants and art soon. I've just got a lot of big projects that are either due or need to be in a good state next week so I haven't had time to also do art. I should have some cool plant microscopy shots from my research this weekend... fingers crossed :)

I mostly use it while hiking/birding/field adventures/etc. I also have binoculars that I keep on hand that are currently on a harness. I currently have a D500 (just inherited) and a D800 that I swap between and I'm using anything from a 50mm/1.8 to my telephoto lenses depending on the day.

Thank you! That genuinely means so much to me, I'm just starting and I'm learning so much but I've been struggling to find resources and so I've really just been playing around and learning as I go. I'd love to one day take a class to learn some good techniques and foundations :)
