Coat, Madeleine Vionnet, 1925. Bear in mind that the collar is fur (mink). That aside, this is a beautiful coat. Rich black velvet, a really striking collar, and stunning gold/silver lamé lining. #fashionhistory #ootd #dresshistory

Time for more #Mamamoo. Honestly, they're amazing. Last time I posted a pretty quirky song, so here's a really big hit - Starry Night, written by #Moonbyul. A really lovely performance, especially Hwasa's lines. #마마무 #hwasa #solar #wheein #kpop youtu.be/LjUXm0Zy_dk?...

Gratuitous #bridge picture. Ilkley, Yorkshire.

Evening dress, Lanvin, 192? Aztec inspired pattern on a full black dress. Lanvin's stuff from this period is really beautiful - I'd love to see this from some more angles, and in motion. From the Kyoto Costume Institute. #dresshistory #fashionhistory #ootd #artdeco

100% still relevant

For this week's #LBDSaturday, here's this 1959 Black Swan (Cygne Nior) cocktail dress designed by Yves Saint Laurent for Dior, not to be confused with Dior's 1949 evening dress of that same name. It's made of black tulle and lace and now belongs to the National Museum of Scotland. #fashionhistory

Not a great photo. But it's always lovely to be along the trees.

Did I post my scones? Here are my scones. Based on my mam's recipe, but gluten free. They tasted TERRIBLE. #baking #bakingfail #glutenfree

Q: “You are to be denied existence. Humanity's fate has been sealed. You will be destroyed.” 15 year old me: Stop him, Jean-Luc!!!! 42 year old me: Let’s hear him out.

Kimono & haori style dress, Poiret, 1920, Paris Poiret was known for using international fabrics, and designing for draping rather than tailoring. As seen here. #Valentines connection - his wife Denise worse this dress. Though they then got divorced in 1928... #dresshistory #fashionhistory #ootd

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. But what the autistic people in your life hear when you spread that widely debunked misinformation is that you would prefer to have a child die a painful death from eradicated communicable disease than to be like them. That's nasty work. Hope this helps!

Evening dress, Gustave Beer, 1919, Paris. Closing out the 1910s with this amazing evening dress. I love the scale/waves pattern - very Art Deco. Not entirely sure about the striped green sash underneath, but the overall effect is a big wow anyway. #fashionhistory #dresshistory #ootd #artdeco

I was once accused of organising a conspiracy to have most of my year-group skip school on a Friday afternoon.

This is such a nonsense thing to do. I wonder is the discrimination the point of using them. It's a convenient to ditch whole groups of people.

Says it all really.

Last one of these (cos I have deleted the game). A cosy fireside sit after all that walking. #conanexiles #slowgaming #asmr #cosy #funcom youtu.be/G3MmvZLkf3A

Evening Dress, Lucile (Lucy Christina Wallace), New York, 1916. Now this thing is incredible. The soft colours are really lovely, but what really draws my eye is the triple skirt, with the open overskirt revealing the beautiful decorations beneath. Love it. #fashionhistory #dresshistory #ootd

Dressing warmer in part 10 of 12. Just 20 minutes of sitting looking at a misty valley. #conanexiles #funcom #asmr #gaming youtu.be/VaJQlFbVaJo?...

Its a comfort to me that, no matter what's going on here, the vast universe is just out there existing, and will do long after we're gone.

Evening dresses, Lanvin (left) and unknown (right), Paris, 1911. In Paris in the early 1910s, apparently these high waists and vibrant colours were all the rage. They're really quite beautiful, especially the green #Lanvin one. From Kyoto Costume Institute. #dresshistory #fashionhistory #ootd

Got into a lot of music recently via my daughter, including the amazing #Mamamoo. They're kinda unusual for a K-pop group, and this song (making fun of each other's height) is a nice example of their fun vibe. #solar #wheein #hwasa #moonbyul youtu.be/h41Rrk_6rzs?...

More walking from a now-obscure old game. If you're in the market for a video about nothing much, with some nice scenery and the occasional scary noise, then this is the one for you. #conan #conanexiles #slowgaming #asmr youtu.be/uH-E8dfFEr8
